k6ccc
OK, do you have a question?
Phelps
In the preview section of s5 I'm trying to add the matrix to decode if the increase in licensing and cost is the way I want to proceed but can't figure out how to add it to my preview. Aubrey
You should just be able to add the built in matrix prop shape that comes natively with the Preview Editor - is there something specific that's going wrong?
Phelps
When I try to add a 4 channel controller with 100 nodes per ch. It just gives me 4 lines not a true matrix
Aubrey
Don't add a controller - add the matrix as a prop (top option in the menu). Even though you can add LOR devices as an option for the preview, it's rarely an option you actually need to use now that you can build prop based shapes in S5. Phelps
Thank you ,so when I decide what I want to do then will I be able to add the rgb controller?
Aubrey
Don't add the RGB controller. Add it as a matrix prop - I promise the configuration aspect in the software will be much easier.

It just gives me 4 lines not a true matrix Terminology nit-pick. Please do not refer to a pixel controller as a "4 channel controller". Each output or port has many channels. In the case of 100 pixels, it is normally 300 channels. Referring to the outputs of a pixel controller as "channels" only causes confusion. Phelps
So I would need to go from standard to pro and from ccr4 to ccr8?

Depends on if you want to use the Sequencer or Superstar to create effects for your pixels.
Phelps
What ever would be easiest for a newbie?!
Mr. P
I will always recommend a PRO license once an individual starts getting into pixels.

Technically the easiest would be for you to buy sequences - if you want the LOR store sequences, you need the Pro license level. If you're getting ones from Superstar Lights, there should be more info on the site about what you need. Edited March 11, 2021 by Aubrey
Phelps
I know how long it can take to do the traditional channels to go to rgb's must be alot more involved.
Aubrey
Just now, Phelps said: I know how long it can take to do the traditional channels to go to rgb's must be alot more involved. Depends on how intricate you want to be. Sequencing RGB is a different way of thinking. It's not impossible, it just takes time. You're in a great place with it only being March.
