katfish
When saving sequences some of the sequence lms files are larger than the lcs files causing the sequence to be too large to run in show. I am running 4.4.6 pro. This happens when saving from SS to SE, then saving sequence. By them selves there does not seem to be an issue. I've saved the sequence without the SS and it saved correctly, then saved SS without SE and it also saved correctly only after exporting to sequence editor does the problem exist. PhilMassey
LMS files are almost always bigger than LCS files. LCS indicates Compressed Sequence to speed up loading in the show. Has nothing to do with SS. You can turn off Use Compressed Sequences in the Control Panel but it is usually helpful to use them. How big are the LMS files. Some of mine are getting on for a GB. Where are you seeing the Too Large indication. A screenshot of the Control Panel Status log might help. Someone who uses SS will have to chime in on that part. k6ccc
Having to put my S4 hat back on... Are you exporting from SuperStar in Legacy format of as Intensity files?
katfish
Sorry I typed it wrong the LCS files are larger than the LMS files. that is what is stopping me from running in show. Exporting in Legacy format with the macro off.
k6ccc
That does not make sense. .lcs files should be a tiny fraction of the size of the .lms files.
PhilMassey
Again, what is telling you the files are too big. How big are your LMS files.
katfish
I know the lcs files should be smaller but on some of the sequences they are not. As example one lms is 366,000 the lcs is 555,000. Another example is lms 445,00 the lcs is 620,000.
katfish
I have tried to run the show with these sequences as is but it can take up to 4 minutes to load during the show then they repeat that song again. The 4 minutes is just dark at that point. When I remove these sequences from the show it runs fine.
PhilMassey
That makes no sense. There must be something wrong with the files. Delete the lcs files and let the show player recreate them and see if that makes a difference. Also do you have load all files before any are played checked in Show Editor. That never works so well particularly with large files You could try a help desk ticket with LOR and see if they have any suggestions. katfish
Help ticket is in and they are not sure why that is happening.
k6ccc
BTW, here is something to consider. If there is not a specific reason not to, export from SuperStar as intensity files rather than legacy format. My .lms files (or now loredit files) are around 5KB and my .lcs files are less than 1KB. Loads really fast. Puts FAR less CPU load on the show computer too. You do have to use ELOR or E1.31 for any prop that is on an Intensity file (no non-enhanced LOR network). Orville
Don't recall the version, but wasn't there some issues with SuperStar in some earlier versions of the S4 software suites? Don't recall what the issues were, but seems some of the earlier S4 versions{pre 4.4.14} had to have bug fixes and I thought one of them had something to do with exporting the SS files to the SE.
