I usually go wake my computer before show.... but curious...  will the listener fire up and run show if machine is in 'sleep'?  using an old lenovo w win10...  haven't tested this out... Isn't really LOR hardware question, but thx for feedback.

Sleep and hibernate cause nothing but problems IMO and not just with LOR activities.  The very first thing I always do with a new to me machine is turn them off. Allowing  the monitor to turn off is fine but that's all.

My machines stay on 24/7 except for the monitors which turn off after 15 mins.

Nope. There is such a thing as "wake on USB" but the other end would have to do the waking and the controllers don't. I've been in IT for 20 years. All my machines  have solid state hard drives (no mechanical stuff to wear out/eat power) and most stay on 24 hours a day. My show laptop will get backed up and packed up on Jan 2 and unpacked in November.

I can add to this thread as well.  My first show, I didn't turn off power saver OR all windows sounds so when the laptop went into power saver mode, the show stopped.  The windows sounds always seem to be like 10 times as loud as the music so if anything happens on the laptop during the show, you hear this loud BONG! right in the middle of the show.

So yes, turn off all power saving AND all windows sounds.
