XmasSteve
Hi everyone, Need some assistance please in figuring out a problem with my Mega Tree (16 CCR-2 ribbon strips) running on a Pixie16 controller. The previous year all the sequences were running fine. This controller was also used for Halloween to run 16 strands of 100 count bullet lights for some Coro props in the yard. A month later I hook this controller up to my mega tree and now all the sequences are upside down... The sequences themselves play correctly in the sequencer with effects like snowflakes going down the pixels but when hooked up to the controller the snowflake effects are going UP the tree. That is just one example but all the effects are upside down.... even on purchased sequences... Anybody have any insight if this might be a bad setting on the controller? As always any help is super appreciated and if I did not provide enough info let me know and I can add anymore details that might be needed. Mr. P
If it happens on all your sequences then check the Pixie settings and see if Reverse Strings is checked.
XmasSteve
I tried going into the Hardware Utility and hit the config option for that controller... it opens a new window and lists every port... with a "reverse" box that is not check marked next to every port... I put check marks in all 16 boxes and then after restarting light o rama my mega tree would not even light up. :( So I went back in and removed all those check marks and it is up and running again but still with all the effects upside down... While I was in the config option I did notice that the ports were set for 100 lights when the CCR2 Ribbons are technically only 50 lights per strip.... should I lower that number to 50 and then try the reverse option again? Mr. P
Well you stated that the controller ran 100 pixels per port for Halloween and if your tree is only 50 per port then yes you need to change the settings to 50.
XmasSteve
Thanks for helping me work through that little hitch in my light show Mr. P. So when I originally reversed the strings in the control panel it was indeed trying to light up lights 51-100 which did not exist on the CCR2 strings... Correcting the number of lights on each string back to 50 *AND* then reversing the strings solved the problem.... Its always the little things that get ya but lesson learned and I wont have that problem next year using that controller for Halloween and then Christmas... Funny thing is... even with all the cars stopping to see the light show I dont think anyone really noticed except me... For 4 days I have been running that upside down tree trying to figure out the problem but cars kept honking and waving as they watched... but man did it really annoy me... lol Thanks again for your super quick help... you are the amaze-bombs! :)
