10W Flood/CMB24D issue (RESOLVED)

Hi everyone.  I am wracking my brain on this one and have reached a dead end, so I'm looking for some help.

I have eight 10W floods hooked up through a CMB24D controller.  It has the latest firmware installed.  I am running them on an enhanced network (Regular) along with some CCB's, CCP's, and a Pixie 2.  The hardware utility sees the controller on that network (along with the other controllers) and I can control the floods just fine.  But they are not coming on in a sequence.  I have double checked that I have the correct Unit ID and the correct network. I even created a separate preview and animation sequence of just the floods to try and debug this, but I'm not having any luck.

The only conclusion is that I might be adding them to the preview incorrectly.  I used "Add a Light-o-Rama Device", selected "CMB24D" as the device, selected "Add as a Group", added the correct Unit ID and Network, clicked the "8 RGB Channels" box and made sure that the "Flood Lights" box is checked.  They appear correctly in the Preview window and show up correctly in the Sequence.  But when I program them in a sequence (animation or music), they play in the preview window but do not turn on outside.

What am I missing?????

Hi Joe,

As a test with your floods only preview sequence. try changing the network to non-enhanced and run the test sequence.

Did you close HU.

Yes to all.  Now I am trying what Jim suggested.

Thanks Jim.  That did it!!  They obviously don't like an enhanced network.

So does that mean I cannot run my other controllers on this network?  Don't the CCB's, CCP's and Pixie 2 need an enhanced network to use all of the great motion effects in S5?

Well, at least you now know the issue.  CMB24D should work on an Enhanced network at up to 500K speed with current firmware - which appears to be 1.05.  Are you sure they have the current firmware?  And yes, anything that is using Motion Effects needs to be on an Enhanced network.

The absolute fallback would be to run two networks - one enhanced and one normal (unless you already have two).  Move the CMB24 onto a non-enhanced network.  Just as an FYI, if you get desperate enough to need to do that and don't have an available USB adapter, I have a red one available and will be in the office on Tuesday.  I'm sure we can work something out...

Thanks Jim.  That's what i thought.  I am already running two networks, both enhanced. One is solely dedicated to a Pixie 16 running 16x100 pixels.  While the LOR documentation states that the CMB24D should run on an enhanced network at 500k, apparently the 10w floods don't like it.  My CMB24D has the most current firmware so the only solution I see right now is to run a 3rd "normal" network.  I have been contemplating adding some strobes, so I could add them to this network as well using one of my AC controllers.  Luckily I have an extra adapter I can use, but thanks for the offer.  And when I go live, I'll be running the show on a G4 MP3 director that can accommodate up to 4 networks.

Hello.  I have a CMB24D controller that I want to use in an xLights sequencer.  I'm connected to the xLights E1.31 network through the RS485 (RED) dongle.  If my memory serves me right the blinking red light on the controller board should be steady when a connection is established.  It is flashing.  Any advice on configuration of the CMB24D on the xLights network would be of great help!!

The Red dongle (adapter) is RS485 (LOR) , not Ethernet (E1.31)
