benbassinger
Hello all, I’m having an issue with my setup that was working fine last year. Running LOR 4.4.12 with 6 AC controllers and 1 CMB24D for 8 10w floods. I was using ELLs for some controllers, but switched to all wired to eliminate any possible wireless issues. I can play all show songs through sequence editor and it controls all lights and runs correctly, but when I run the sequences through the show (in the hub), only the ac controllers light up. The led on the CMB is solid for connectivity, but it doesn’t operate lights. Everything works correctly via hardware utility and sequence editor. Please help with ideas. Thank you! jfuller8400
I would first try using the Hardware utility to connect to the CMB24D and see if you can manually control the channels. This will allow you to 1) verify the operation of the CMB24D 2) verify that your fixtures are working 3) verify the unit id of the CMB24D matches the unit number in your sequence. benbassinger
Yes. Thank you. Everything works correctly via both hardware utility and sequence editor, just not during an actual show run. I have also recompressed the show and tried running compressed and uncompressed sequences and still rgb doesn’t work during show.
GriswoldStyle
By chance have you checked the se to see what unit id you have the cmb set at? Also have you checked the dip switches to ensure it is the correct unit id on the cmb board? I found that to be my issue as I forgot to change the dip switches to the proper unit id after my Halloween show. Just a thought maybe it is set incorrectly for the unit id in your actual channel config. Just curious if you can post a picture of the dip switches on your board. TheDucks
Check your sequence has the correct NETWORK NAME (eg AuxA ) for the CMB24 ID. Remember LOR networks have 2 parts ID and Network (adapter). This was my problem, from using previous sequences from last years location (way different Network layout)
k6ccc
Are you using an Enhanced LOR network and what network speed. Also, when you look at the CMB24D in the Hardware Utility, what is the firmware version?
benbassinger
I am using the regular LOR network at the 56 speed. Dip switches 6 and 9 are turned on to assign channel nine to the cmb. The box is assigned correctly because I can play sequence and control lights through sequence editor just fine. All lights and controllers work flawlessly when in sequence editor when “control lights” is selected. I will have to check the Network Name as I don’t remember specifically what that was, but I would think it was correct if it plays fine through sequence editor? The cmb was on 1.02 firmware, but I upgraded it to 1.05 last night to see if the helped, but same thing is happening. (Works great on Hardware Utility test and through Sequence Editor.) benbassinger
Ok, so after getting home, I thought of the only thing I hadn’t tried and that was to run a schedule instead of show on demand. It was setup as last years show (a couple less AC controllers) and the CMB lights work. Now I’m really confused as the 2020 show schedule doesn’t work with the CMB, but 2019 show does. What changes between the sequence editor (which works for both shows) and show editor/scheduler (which only works for last years show)?

benbassinger
The paths to the shows are in their own folder with the sequences for the respective show. (2020.lss show file is in the 2020 directory under the LOR folder.) (just the same as 2019 show and folder).
PhilMassey
What does the show status window say when you try to play the show.

At least I don't see that being available except for the PRO License level per the comparisons of the software.
jfuller8400
I wonder if something got corrupted in the show file. I would delete the 2020 show file and recreate it.
benbassinger
Thank you, everyone! Jfuller8400 may have found the correct answer. I didn’t think to delete it, but I deleted the show file and selected to load the sequences as needed(instead of all at the beginning). I also chose to not use compressed sequences. This combination brought everything back! Thank you so much everyone! Is there any downside to loading the sequences as needed and not using compressed? PhilMassey
I never use "Load Before, but I do always use Compressed. If you have large files, it doesn't take long before the show player runs out of memory and starts unloading the sequences that it just cached, which is counter productive and makes no sense. Compressing sequences almost always helps with load times.
jfuller8400
If your sequences are small (in size) then you should be fine using uncompressed and loading them as needed. If your sequences are larger and/or you start to see lags between when one sequence ends and the next one starts, then I would go back to using compressed sequences and loading them all at the beginning. Another thing (and I don't know why I didn't think of this before) is to run the LOR Verifier against both the sequences and the entire show. That may also point out any issues. benbassinger
Hmm. I’ll see if verifier finds anything. I’ve never actually used that I don’t think. I give the show a test run tonight and see if there’s any lag or issues.
