Controller Appears Dead

Controller was working fine, now nothing. I have power to the controller but the green led is not blinking and it doesn't show up during a hardware scan. Network connectivity is passing through as the unit is in the middle of the several other controllers. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot or what the issue may be?

Check the fuse LOGIC SIDE  (you need a VOM or a test probe light for 120V)

Check the Voltage Jumpers they are all there and seated.

Unplug the Network cables (the controller puts 9V on pins 3+6 (green pair) and see if it comes back on

Reset the controller, power the controller off, move jumper to pins 5 & 6 and power the controller on. The status LED will fast blink during reset. Once you see this, power the controller off and move the jumper back to pins 4 & 5.

I have the same issue with a pixie 16. I had a momentary loss of power to that pixie and the lights went out but I do have pass through to my other controllers. Could it be the power supply?

Yes.  Stuttered power is hard on power supplies. The slow start circuit does not have time to re-enable, causing a huge surge trying to bring the regulated (5V or 12V) back to proper levels.

Check the fuse in the power supply if accessible. CAUTION Extreme dangerous voltages exist under that can, If you don't know. Get someone who does

But there is a list of other things.  GFCI, Bad Power/extension cord, even a tripped breaker (if this is the only thing on that outlet)
