PhilMassey
Strange that mine checked both first and second pass, no shutdown.
c7williams
I see you have your files stored in one drive. I wonder if that is contributing to your issue. Maybe it’s a bit slower because it’s getting your files from the one drive server opposed to a physical location on your hard drive.
dougd
Onedrive is between my work computer and my home computer. I just duplicate those path on the show machine. It is not syncing with Onedrive. I copy the sequences to that machine.
dougd
For the record, Onedrive is setup to leave physical files on each computer, it does not pull from the cloud. That is why I like Onedrive you can use different options for each folder that syncs.
PhilMassey
I don't now but I have run my show off a networked drive in the past and there was a noticeable load time for it but still probably no more than half a second. There was also a measure of variability depending on traffic. Running from a cloud drive would be very unpredictable. File sizes are getting bigger and bigger every year, particularly if you sequence old school. But as Doug said he and I are using local files. I'm looking now to see if that can be optimized. Matt This will be addressed in the next release. As your testing has shown, this only impacts the startup of the next sequence when the LOREDIT file is very large. Matt

PhilMassey
Matt, quick question. If I make a change to a group definition from Sequencer, say, changing the arrangement, does that count as a change to the preview, and will it cause the show player to reprocess all the files. I changed something today in one sequence and all the songs reprocessed, despite having run all of them through Sequence Compressor yesterday. I never had Preview Design open directly at any time today. Not really a problem if you know about it. I'm compressing again now.

Yes, the group definition is stored in the preview file, so even though you can change it from the sequence grid, it changes the preview and all of the sequences associated with that preview will be reprocessed. k6ccc
Cool. I updated my show computer (remotely), and will start a test show on demand as soon as the current Zara Radio song ends...
PhilMassey
I repeated my test from the other day and also saw the improvements. The second pass through saw the check eliminated completely. Got worried when I didn't see it listed in the release notes. Thanks Matt.
k6ccc
I'm about a half dozen songs into my test show. Seeing two to five seconds for "Checking..." for each song.

Showing about a week ago. Just for grins, I exited the test show on demand, exited the show player, edited the show to change to load all sequences before any are played, then restarted the show player and started a show on demand. From the log below, you can see it took 40 seconds to check all the sequences, but once that was completed, you can see that it still took three seconds after THX and Opening ended and Wizards started. Although it was after I copied the log, the next song transition took two seconds.
