Finished my install yesterday except for my signs and moving heads which wont go out until next weekend. It all came up with no problems other than a dead pixel which will get field soldered today. It was OK when I pretested the prop.

Now back to software mode for the final tweaks to 60 sequences and to help my son put lights on his new house. Never ends.

Spot the dead pixel...........

I see one and 1 stake that appears to be off or turned so its not visible.

That looks sharp.

I've got 4 props up - well they've been up since Halloween. LOL

Cant wait to see what you can do with that yard and those stakes.

Great job my friend.

Dead Pixels? How about a whole Peace stake or Tree (no lights on).😛

To be honest, I have been testing as I go. Contact issues (and the cables were stored in dry bins, and unused dangles were capped and I still had to fuss.: work the plug on/off a few times). Sealed cracks found in a Gen2 AC controller case (will replace case next year, all mine are outside). Minor changes (Tree/bush grew. That one is gone. Fixed marginal mounting issues.

Still got time. Thanksgiving ('I got it all up, and it works") is my target.

Me too, i will have an embarrassing one song for Tday. My setup usually goes pretty smooth but this year its my integration to S5.

Tree is led strings, and is in a chase at that moment. The stake has one dead pixel and the rest are not getting data or power. It worked the previous night.

I always pretest my lights but every year I usually find 1 or 2 dead pixels. It's like the pixels are playing jokes on us lol

Well i tried to quit this year but the weather is so nice in Chicago right now i'm back at putting everything up !

Glad to hear it. There is no quitting in this hobby. I actually help another member some times that is in his 80's. I do not know how he does it.

Makes me think of Clark Griswold.

I test me props and controllers as I set up. There is always a unit ID or something I have changed so always test.

However I hate looking at the roof lights because they are so high Id hate to see a node or two out. Then the Halloween hurricane hit me and branches knocked out several sections. Since we didn't have power for 2.5 days and some props were tore up I never thought about branches being stuck 40-60' up. Was working on emergency prop repairs when I looked up and seen the carnage. I finished those repairs at 4 pm Halloween night.

Standing on my tip toes and soldering over my head at almost 60' made me ask myself - all of this for some lights. I then replied "yep" and kept soldering.

I don't have everything up, but I ran the first test a few minutes ago.  Except for having to change one universe setting in a controller, everything that was hooked up worked.  Should have the pixel tree fully operational by the end of the day Monday.  I will need half a day to do a long needed repair on part of my landscape lighting that should have been done a long time ago.  But it's gotten bad enough that I pretty much have to fix it before opening night.  And I always have a few pixels that pop out of the holes in the arches, but that's only a few minutes to re-seat them.  But they all worked!  There are a couple optional items, that may well not get changed until after opening night.

I was having a serious case of "not inspired" to get the hardware work done earlier in the year.  Unusual for me, I got the sequencing done months ago - took advantage of a month of down time after my surgery when I was not supposed to to anything physical.

Forgot our church is having a special event this weekend, so I still haven't got anything done outside as yet.

What with the rain from Eta off and on and other weather factors, couldn't do what I had planned last weekend and it rained pretty much every day, and then the 2 church services on Friday, which I didn't make because I ended up with a case of mild food poisoning and ended up in bed all day for both Friday and Saturday.

And then this weekend I forgot about the special event going on at church on Sunday, so there goes another day I can't do anything as I won't get home 'til probably sometime after 8pm.

Hopefully on Monday I can start getting my RGB CCB's up along the roof line, along with the Singing Trees, only have one sequence that I managed to complete for them, so they probably are not going to be the highlight of this years show as I had planned.   I just can't get the sequencing done on this blasted computer I've been forced into using. :(   May put them in as just lit outlines, but that may be all they do except for the one song I managed to do for them.  Just Ralphie and Zuzu.    And because of the heat in this crappy manufactured home is another reason I got nothing done, trying to sequence with 100-125 degree Fahrenheit was just a bit much in here.

The show will go on, but not the one I had planned on.

I have everything up and ready to go but the wind is brutal today in central Illinois. I hope everything stays together and nothing gets damaged. It seems every lighting season we get 2 or 3 really bad wind storms and today is no exception.
