OK guys this is my first year using Light O Rama products with pixels. I purchased the Felix Light O Rama starter kit which included the pixels installed in the controller I believe it’s a two channel pixie two, and a mini Director G3.

I downloaded the Nat King Cole song from Amazon the Nat King Cole starter sequence And the Nat “King” Cole motion pack which was recommended, I have successfully got the lights to work one time and playback with the tree and sing but every time I unplug the controller to screw the top on it and put it away plug it back in to test it it’s like it’s lost its programming and won’t recognize the mini Director as far as playback the music plays the lights don’t any help would be appreciated thank you

Did they have you run HU (the Hardware Utility)?

Did you set the controller ID that way? Unplugging means the Switches inside are read on power up, cancelling the value you set.

Open the Pixie, turn all the ID switches to OFF, Then run HU again and set the address you were told.

I’ve been trying a couple hours every day before work to figure this out, I go in at 3:30 in the afternoon so by the time I get up eat all the normal stuff and try this it didn’t leave much time to call LOR. I have read the manuals cover to cover, tried to find you tube videos on my controller for help but when I could not find a anything helpful I posted here. Ok so in the am when I get up I will look at controller and see dip switches turn all off and prob bend your ears again

thanks john

With Motion Packs they will run with his license

If you need help with the LOR trees give me a shout in PM. We can exchange numbers and I can get you up and running.

One thing to remember the LOR Singers come pre set with unit IDs 30, 32, 34 and 36 ( do not worry about the two IDs less confusion since the way the singers are set you cannot see the second unit ID. Just know they skip units.

Turning off the dip switches will net you a unit ID of 1 if you do not have any other controllers that's cool but you will have to reset the network preferences within the sequence. In HU you will then reset the unit ID to 30. If you attempt this on your own. Connect only the Ralphie controller to the adapter to your usb port. Open HU. Do a refresh in HU and it should find 1 Unit 01 pixie2 v, now go to the bottom left and select unit id to change from unit 1 to unit 30. Hit ok, done in a flash.

Another item to note- you need to plug the USB adapter to the same USB port every time and never NEVER NEVER press the panic button in the controller or in the HU (auto config com port) you will chase your tail all day doing that,

Now if you do not need those IDs for something else it is best to leave the IDs at their setting. Ralphie at 30, however turn off the dip switch and set it in HU. That way your cards will work with them.

Also I would recommend not continuously taking them apart and packing them up. This is why I recommend to turn off the dip switches. If you need to change unit IDs that can be done in the HU without the risk of damaging something by opening up as well as damaging the waterproof rubber seal.

Please turn off all dip switches, put the cat 5 cable in and put the 8 screws back in the cover and we can talk on the phone and get you up and running again.

Other than my videos on setting up the LOR Singers i am not sure there are any. If there are I have not seen them.

But your next message says the ID's start at 30.

Basic starts at 01.  So the OP needs to open the controller up and set it to 01 or turn all switches Off and use HU to set to 1.

Not for the singing faces if he is buying them from LOR.

Elden - Unit ID 30

Felix- 32

Ralphie - 34

Zuzu- 36

Please don't confuse the OP. If he sets them at 01 the purchased sequence will not work unless he changes his unit ID's in the props/ sequence. All LOR singing quartet sequences come with those unit ID's from the sequencers.

Since he doesn't seem to have any other controllers and he seems to be new to this his best bet is to leave them at the factory unit IDs but to set them in HU and not the dip switches. Which means turning off the dip switches and then go in to HU and set them as I mention above.

I did mis quote last night with Ralphie being from LOR as unit 30, he is actually 34. It is corrected above. Long day yesterday.

The problem the OP will face is not all sequences have all 4 singers so he will have to copy paste from the others to Ralphie or move Ralphie to unit ID 30.

OP if you need help figuring this out just ask.

Ok guys good morning, this year I wanted to keep it simple to start, I have just 1 controller as previously described 1 singing tree looking at papers now it’s Felix, and 1 LOR UMP3g3 mini director.

for animated lights this year that’s it.

I am only Planing on using 1 tree with maybe 2 or three songs based on my flexibility with income this close to Christmas.

sooo that’s the hardware I have, I just want to get it up and running so I can get my wife excited ( hold it not what I meant lol ) get her onboard with LOR so we can continue to grow the display over the off season for next year.

I will post my updates on what I’ve done in a little while this afternoon

Sorry to jump in on this, but I want to better understand what you are saying about the dip switches vs. configuring in HU. I bought 3 of the singing trees this year (new to LOR, this was my first order along with a 16 channel controller). I have got everything up and working now and love how they look with my display so I don't want to mess up anything now but interested to learn about the above. I have the 3 trees set with the dip switches to 30 (Elden), 32 (Felix) and 34 (Ralphie). I ordered during the Labor Day sale, so all of my sequences are purchased from LOR and I need to get into learning on my own for 2021.

Any help appreciated on how/why to do it via HU instead!

Depending on where you mount your controllers for the tree the dip switches will be fine unless you want to change the unit ID's to a lower number and make it to where you do not have to remove the 8 screws.

You will need to remove the 8 screws the first time to turn off all dip switches, after that you can change them forever with the HU without removing any screws.

My controllers are mounted on my 8 trees and all dip switches are all of on all of my pixie controllers, all models as I have always suggested for ease of use.

If you change the unit IDs you will also need to change then in SE for sequencing purposes.

If you purchase the LOR face sequences I recommend never editing any part of them. Always copy and paste in to your own blank sequence. this is also mandatory to not edit one thing, even the name if you are using any of the directors and the HUB to link them. They will not link if anything has changed.

3 Days in LOR Forum and already learning a lot and read a lot of manuals, visited many website/links..

My Standard display is up this year - so a display for Next Year will be the ticket...

OK, quick question - a purchased LOR sequence follows what "Default" Layout ?

As if I was to group my props to match "LOR Defaults" ie Bushes, Roof, Windows

And I assume you can not copy / paste sequences from RTG purchases - but can from YCM purchases?

Correct you can only modify the YCM files. Not sure of the ones that comes with the starter kit. and LOR uses a 4X4 design layout. It is all explained on their homepage.
