gsmith37064
@MattBrown When I apply a movie to a motion row it works. Also when I apply a simpleshape it works. But if go back and change the motion row from none to rectangle or even custom, it will no longer take an effect. The current one's that did work, also stops working as well. I delete the motion row effect and recreate it, and still nothing.
gsmith37064
@MattBrown Somehow I managed to get the original effects to work again, but I cannot add anything new. Motion rows seem to be very unstable. It does show the prop working with the effect in the preview window as well as the motion effect generator screen. It will not display during the sequence any more. Also in the prop definition I assigned 6 motion rows. Inside the sequence editor when I add my prop, I only have one motion row and not 6. gsmith37064
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I was planning on using motion rows (videos and pics) heavily in this sequence. Currently I am dead in the water.
k6ccc
I have never had any problems with Motion Effects rows. Granted that in the past most of what I use Motion Effects rows for is SuperStar, but my P5 and P10 matricies are sequenced entirely in Motion Effects. This year, it looks like most of what I do with my Peace Family Pixel Stakes will be done in Motion Effects. So far, have not had any issues while modifying effects - which I have done A LOT as I figure out what looks good. I have exactly one picture (multi-frame gif) that is used for a few seconds in one sequence, and have zero expectation to run video in any way shape or form. I am also having issues with the builtin effects as well. Not sure why I tell it 6 motion rows in the prop definition, but it only gives one. It's almost like the ones in the prop do not match the ones in the sequence editor that I have to add manually. I just started with motion rows and this sequence I am doing was going to be built heavily on it, but it looks like I will have to scrap most of it because the motion rows are flaky. I can reproduce this every single time... Edited May 3, 2020 by gsmith37064

gsmith37064
Bump... @MattBrown it's been so long that I no longer remember the issues. It's pretty bad when bugs are found and the LOR team elects to ignore them.
k6ccc
Just tried a video and other than the resolution being pretty crappy - playing to my P5 matrix so it was 64 pixels high by 192 pixels wide - it worked fine. Then added additional effects on top of the video, then modified them, deleted them, added more, etc. Can't make it fail in any way. About the only thing I can confirm is the number of motion effects for a prop, as defined in the Preview does not seem to match what you actually get when creating a new sequence with that preview. But so what. So it takes 5 seconds to add more, one time only - whoopie do...

You never could reproduce them, yet they got resolved in 5.4.2. I enjoy hearing from you, but I really could care less that you have no issues. I really am happy that you have no issues, but unfortunately that Is not my case once again. We all know that S5 tends to have strange issues with different users... Even on a clean install of Windows. Not sure why to be honest. I do what I need to do in Xlights and export it out.
