It would be great if we could get a tool similar to S4 in which we could select an area and change all of the effects in that area to a different color. Just like the "change effects" - shimmer, twinkle etc. This would be a serious time saver.

Just getting my feet wet so if its already there please let me know.

This would be a nice handy feature for sure! +1

Select area, right click.

Existing effects foreground Apply toolbar color.

There are many other effects in the same menu.

Take it back.. Does not work like a charm. If I grab an area of 15 seconds that has white solid parts and other parts that have a white fade, I select the color tool and choose green to fade black. I apply it to the 15 second area and it starts off solid then goes to fade. It changes your effects that you currently have in it. I may need to do a video so you guys will better understand. For it to work flawlessly, you have to do each little area. No different that manually changing the color.

If you have basic solid colors and want to change it, it works. But if you have different effects in that 15 second block, it does not work. I do think it will work for normal faces and dumb RGB faces. But if you have effects in your face, nope.

But for now, I think JR's request still stands.

Yes, in S4 it changes all parts as created to the selected effect, leaving everything exactly as is. fade up to solid fade down and anything in between can change .

For colors that would be a valuable tool.

Thanks for the update Greg.

How about prompt for new effect /modify existing effects.

Never use the color picker myself but I think this works.

Nope... Redoes all your effects. 😪

Does not seem like a viable solution for RGB. If I built 15 seconds out as white with fades and solids, I should be able to change the color easy enough.

Basically right now, I select my color and then change each segment grid of the sequence by hand. I guess I need to learn to build the sequence with the correct colors the first go around.

To change the color and maintain fades, use Existing Effects > Apply Toolbar Hue.

To change the type of effect (e.g. intensity to shimmer), use Prompt For New Effect > Modify Existing Effects.

That did it!! Now I can change colors after I do the initial sequence easy enough.

Thanks!!

Guys all i have been doing is highlighting the effect,

Right click, new effect, change existing effect.....

if you just want to change the color of a simple on/off,,,, highlight it,,,, select color in toolbar, change the colors you want it to be, and hit the “M” key...

does this help?

Not what I/ we were looking to do. An entire row/ sequence if need be. The ability to change the color of all effects at once. For instance if I want to change the spinner color for 15 seconds of the sequence with the various effects I could select it. Not sure if Matts last comment is what you are trying to explain but I think that's what we needed. Make it real easy for my singing faces so I can copy paste from S4 to S5 and then select my colors without taking all day.

Thanks for the reply.

I will check Matts and yours to see, the shimmer and all of that is the same as S4. This was something I was wishing for, for quite a while in S4 and looks like S5 has it.

Matt's solution seems to work really well.

Oh I see! Yeah! That would be nice to be able to change all effects and everything. Because I started out making everything orange and purple. But purple and green looks better lol

Follow Matt's solution and you can change the colors in about 5 seconds flat.

It's really a nice handy feature for those of us that build a sequence with one or two color's and then come back and change the colors to what we want.

AWESOME. Thanks! I’ll do that later tonight when I get caught up at work!
