Software upgrade before connecting hardware?

I just purchased my first LOR products and have version 1.6.15 installed and am wanting to upgrade it to LORII.

My question is, Can I upgrade the software without having any of the hardware connected?

I have read that the Control Panel must be ran at least once before upgrading. I have done that.

To start out with I purchased:

1- SPK-ST

1- CTB16DWHS

1- CTB08WHS

for 24 channels.

It will work ok. You don't need to have an LOT connected to do the upgrade nor to run the 1.6.X version after installing it.
