thebaronn
Hello!I dont know exactly where to post this, so I figured this would be the place for the best response.I need to know the voltage per LED light on a strand of 50ct purple M5 LEDs from creativedisplays.com. I am rewireing a few starnds to run off the LOR DC board and need to know how many volts each group of three is pulling. Is there a tester I can buy, or does anyone have that information handy?I emailed paul at creativedisplays.com and he said he did not know.......awesome!Any help would be great!Thank youEric
ledlighting
Here is a formula to find the volts:Volts = Watts / AmpsExample: So 204W / 17A = 12 Volts. If you know the watts and amps you should be able to find what you are looking for.http://www.overclock.net/faqs/42271-how-convert-between-watts-amps-volts.htmlTravis Fremminghttp://www.ledholidaylighting.com
Steven
The voltage for high-brightness red LEDs is about 1.9, orange and yellow is about 2.0, green is about 2.1, and white or blue is about 3.4. The exact voltage depends on the variances from the manufacturing process and how much current you drive through them.I found this information in other places, but most recently at http://members.misty.com/don/ledd.html
