yuthguy Posted September 10, 2018 Share Posted September 10, 2018 I FINALLY CONSTRUCTED A 12 RIBBON X 50 MEGA TREE and used it for a special July 4th display. It was just one song, but it was really cool. Now I would really like to use it for a Halloween and Christmas display. I am open to any song sequences that anyone might have available. My great friend James Morris has a ton of ccr tree sequences however you would have to convert them for your tree and SuperStar would make that task very simple for you. As I was not able to secure it against a building and only could lean it against a second story gutter leaf, I wanted it to be sturdy, so I used two 16 foot 2x4's as my sides with 2 by 4's at the top and base. I then used PVC pipe for each ribbon (attached with ties) with PVC attachments at the top and bottom. I also put fish string every three feet to control any wind movement. I installed it the third week of may for memorial day weekend. We have had very severe thunderstorms throughout the summer with extreme high winds, and the structure is totally intact and functions wonderfully. If you are looking for directions to build a ccr tree, I did a writeup here all you have to do is search for LOR CCR Tree build.I had an easy (cheap) and then did a revided version of it later. Also my friend K6CCC has a great design just search his user name, recently he had posted some pics of it. If you do get the SS license search for James Morris and reply to him, ask if he will send you the .sup file so you can convert. Feel free to pm me and I will show you haw to convert them. As mentioned, the first may take you a couple minutes but after that it literally takes 15-20 seconds.
