woolfman
Can someone recommend somewhere to buy spools of wire and plugs to make custom length cords from the controller to lights? I remember some discussion of a few places but I cannot remember the names of the places. Thanks in AdvanceWOOLFMAN
Dr. Jones
Paul - CDI - www.creativedisplays.com - has the plugs commonly known as vampire plugsthe bulk wire is found where ever you can get a good price. For me - I just purchase it from HD or Lowes. It usually is cheaper than having to pay shipping charges.
DownTown
Hey woolfman....I get my plug ends (male and female) from actionlighting.com. As for spools of copper, I have bought from Home Depot, Lowes, and a local electrical distributer. All are expensive these days.D.T.

rmturner54
I buy my wire and plugs from CDI. I have found that in the end, the prices don't vary enough to get too concerned about saving a buck or two.Just my 2 cents worth.

Ponddude
I know a lot of people here use Travis from LED Holiday Lighting, myself being one of those people. If you haven't checked out his website lately, he has some prilimiary info about his pre-order sale which starts on the 7th. According to the site, he will be selling SPT wire and of course the vampire plugs.http://www.ledholidaylighting.com/2009-LED-Pre-Order-Event.aspxDon't know any prices yet, but we may as well buy in bulk. Paul has started his group buy, the wire and plugs are a pretty good price. See the LED Lights forum at Planet Christmas.Howard

stanward
What about SPT2 wire? That one is much harder to find in bulk.Do you have to be a member of some forum to benefit from CDI's pricing?Stan

MrChristmas2000
http://www.americord.com/bulk-wire/prod_477.htmlI bought 2000 feet of black this year and it seems like a very quality product. You do have to call for the best pricing. Be sure to get them to e-mail you the quotation as well and check the invoice when you get it. They do correct any errors in billing vs quotation.
