Pixie 16D board and sequence question

I previously was using CCR controllers for a 12 CCR tree

The ID setting for those 12 controllers were 2 through OD. If I set the 16d Controller to ID 2 it will automatically populate through Unit ID 11  and so if I do not use the last 4 channels and want to then use my old CCR controllers elsewhere then the it would start  the first CCR with unit ID 12. Is that correct?

Once the controller is mapped and it is correctly set up in the sequence editor can I simply cut and paste my old ccr sequences into the first 12 unit id's of the 16d pixie in sequence editor or do the sequences have to otherwise be modified?

thx

Correct , based on what you described above setting the pixie16 to 2 it will populate to unit 11.

As long as you have no other controllers sharing any of the new unit ids.

yes you would then need to configure your old CCR controller to unit 12.

You can then just copy paste from your old controller sequence to the new pixie.

Let me ask though.

Why not leave the old one in place and just add the pixie below it in SE?

You can still use the old controller for whatever you want and use the pixie for your tree.

Also because of distance requirements it’s hard to use the extra channels from the picie16 tree unless you add a prop close to the tree. May be better to add 4 more strings to the tree.

Your 12ccr tree sequences can be easily converted to 16 in about 10 seconds.

Have questions feel free to ask.

Happy Thanksgiving Day

Remember- you cannot manipulate the pixie series unit I’d. It must use the 16 units it self populated from the starting unit you assign.

Also if you use the old controllers ensure to reassign the id’s.

Several of my old CCR strips are not working hence instead of replacing them, I decided to buy the CCR II with the pixie 16D board. I'll have to decide how to use what is left from the old CCR's.

Although I will not  get to it this year, when you say that the 12 CCR;s can be converted into 16. Is that done by just copying the  first 2 and last 2 channels and add them  to each end?

No, even easier but you must have a SS license.

Its a feature in SS Abd works great.

I have found some problems while testing out downsizing but for expansion it is working.

The SS actually reconfigured the sequence, even images are reconfigured .And literally 10-15 seconds once all parameters are set. (Old sequence size and new sequence size) that’s it. Just takes a little digging to figure it out.

Sounds like your old ccr controllers would be a better choice for additional props than the pixie ccr tree. Just due to the proximity where the props would need to be.

Maybe even use 1 for the star on your new tree. I purchased a star for my pixie16 tree but this year it will be starless, I sit on it since last Feb and never made it.

Newby here , but wouln't this be simpler than copy-paste?

In the Sequence editor (S4), Tools Channel configuration:

I used this when I shuffled Controller-ID, Network assignments

I don't think we are discussing the same thing you are or I am not sure what you are referring to.

We were discussing 2 different issues. 1- configuring his pixie16 and 2- converting his old 12ccr sequences to 16 ccr sequences if he decides to expand on his tree.
