Denny
I don't know why I seem to be so fascinated with this NINJA pan head. I don't know if I would ever need to do this, so this is more of a theoretical question. I was thinking it would be an easy thing to mount one of wirekat's MR16s on this pan head and be able to control it like a slow moving, "poor man's" dmx yolk with LOR. The only thing I have ever used X10 for was to turn lights on and off so I don't know that much about the system. If it can be controlled with LOR, I don't know what you could use it for -- maybe two large, moveable lit eyes in a Halloween prop?
Denny
Duuuuh. Won't work, just realized that the Ninja is radio control, signals not sent through wires.
daniel
Radio controlled from where? A power outlet? Computer? Has anyone ever used this? How "strong" is it? Could it hold and move an floodlight/holder and the drag of the wires?I know its alot of questions, but this may be the thing that gets me into the X10 system.--Daniel L

They come with a handheld remote that will allow you to adjust the pan & tilt. I have mine (4) preprogramed to move my NON X10 color infared cameras through a set range of movements.Typically, you would not want more then 6 to 8 ounces of weigh attached, or it will stall and burn up the motor. My homeautomation software (Homeseer) can control one, but I don't use it. They are all on the same frequency and using the remote to contol one Ninja, can mess up other Ninja's within 20 feet or so of range. It's not really an X10 protocol system like you normally think of X10's. Steven
The CM15A can send wireless signals to the Ninja. A future revision of LOR will communicate with the CM15A, but it remains to be seen if this communication will include the ability to control the Ninja. JBullard
Steven,Thanks for the info on the CM15A.I use the Ocelot and PSC05 as my X10 gateways, for receiving and transmitting X10 signals, and hadn't even looked at the CM15A in several years.
