How Light O Rama is ruining my life

Dan- sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum.

I got my first Light O Rama controller a few weeks ago and have since been using it to control a fairly complicated singing, piano-playing animatronic robot.

Since I've had it, I've been spending every waking hour programming new songs and having a blast doing so. The controller and the robot it controls are my new best friends. The problem is that my old best friends and my family now think I'm a nutcase.

My wife thinks I need to attend a support group. "I don't have a problem, just need more lights, controllers, time,......"

wait till you neighbors see you display. they'll talk and ask question about your electric bill, how many exstension cord, and my favorite. how long does it take to do a sequence. 1st year tough, nobody understands why your lights are blinking and how to listen to the song. even with a liteup sign. than like all of us, you will be a honorable member of the nutcase.

as for your family, I just bought 100 dollars of flowers and plant for my family. keeps them busy and happy for about 3 month. maybe even get to do a few more sequences why they are outside.

This project doesn't control any lights, but rather a musical robot for a restaurant. It does shoes every open hour all year long. It’s got to be one of the hardest working robots in show business.

woah...I see how it's ruining your life. The key is when you said A restaurant. What you need is a whole chain of restaurants, each with multiple musical robots. Your life will be much better after that.

My brain had auto-context-spell-correction turned off, and I thought "wow! a robot that shines shoes!"

Awesome project! Bet there were more than a couple of mechanical challlenges. Can't wait for the videos.

This isn't in a kids pizza/arcade restaurant by any chance, is it? :D

I got my first controller in January. Then 4 More at the secret sale. I am also programming at any free time I have and sometimes I get up in the middle of the night when it is quiet and the kids are asleep. My wife say i need to start "L.A."(light anamous) because i am addicted. This is also my first year with animated lights. I am programing 165 channels at this point with no end in sight. Bring on the June sale I need alot more controllers. Good Luck. I would like to see a video of your robot. Good luck to all of us. Don't forget Christmas is right around the corner. Ho. Ho Ho.
