The LOR Store specifies that a starter package can only be purchased if you purchase a controller with it. The only "trick" here is if you want to purchase a starter kit (which includes the Software, SC485 adaptor and cable) and you want to purchase the controller at a later date. .If that is the case you can purchase the starter kit now with the knowledge that you can download the software immediatly. Light-O-Rama will:1. remove shipping charges before charging your card for the starter kit.2. hold the SC485 adaptor and cable until you order your first controller. At that time the SC485 and cable will be shipped to you..... If you never buy a controller you will end up with only the software which actually costs exactly the same as a starter kit! If/when you purchase a controller you will get the SC485.Actually anyone who has purchased the software (not a starter kit) then later order a controller has received a free SC485.
