Just starting to work with PE and think maybe have problem with program. Wanted to see what everyone thinks. When I open PE, I can open a SE file, however it shows no cells below the waveform, and will not let me do anything in that area. Also when I open the

effect generator, both the left and right side effects boxes are dimmed out, and will not let me open them. Am I doing something wrong, or do I need to reinstall LOR? Using 4.2.12 Pro version.

It sounds like you don't have any props in your preview. Select Tools > Manage Previews from the menu. I imagine you will just gave the default preview listed there. Double-click on it to modify it. Then select Prop > New to start creating props. Or if you have created a Visualizer file you can import that.

That was it! Thanks Matt, must have glossed over that in the instructions!

I am using 4.2.12 Pro version on two machines, one is windows 7 and my show machine is windows 8.1. I have no problems on my show machine, but on my laptop I have a problem with my props in the PE. I can create a prop, but PE won't let me resize it. I reloaded 4.2.12 Pro version but it didn't help. Don't know what else to do. Any ideas?

When you create the prop does it have the handles to use for resizing? Sometimes you have to really look for them on the background to find them.

Yes it does. I can move it around the window by clicking on the prop, but can't rotate or resize. When I click on the handles (red square) they all disappear and all the pixels on the prop turns white with one pixel being blue. I assume the blue is where the controller is located.

The Blue is the starting point for your pixels what kind of prop are you trying to create? I will see if I can duplicate the problem.

It is a 32x30 matrix. As I said earlier, everything works fine on my show computer. And everything else on this machine does too except for rotating and resizing.

Can you take a screen capture of PE's Help > About screen and post it here. Grabbing the resize handles has to do with your graphics hardware and driver.

So, you think I need a different driver?

I had this same exact problem on my other machine. It more than likely has something to do with your video card. What I did was I had to change my background theme. Try several different background themes until one works. Right click on your desktop and click personalize. I had to change mine to basic theme. The problem I had with basic theme was I could resize everything but it left traces on anything I would click out of. Once I got my props set up I would then change the theme back to Aero theme then all would be good. Sounds kind of crazy but give it a shot and see if it works.
