JRF
HiThe description of the Gen3 CTB04-PC says it can be used independently. Does this mean it can be used without a computer and software, and has some "on board" built in effects that can be selected from the board itself? Im looking for a basic controller(s) that I can use on my 20,000 commercial grade LED's for Christmas 2016 that can run basic effects without the use of a computer, like fades, etc.. thanks
Don
It's considered a "Director" meaning it can control *animation only* shows. It can't do music. However, if you wanted to use it as a director for other LOR controllers, you could do that with this unit.
k6ccc
To add a little since Don used the term director which you as a newcomer may not understand. A director (or a controller acting as one) can have a sequence downloaded from your computer into it. You still have to use the software on your computer to create the sequence in the first place and then use the hardware utility to download that sequence into the director (or controller acting like one). Controllers that are being used as a director have a rather limited number of commands because of limited memory. The CTB06 specs say about 10,000 commands. BTW, welcome to the addiction...
