Need more lights
So....Just got done setting up my *NEW* E682, cut and soldered my strips, got my vacuum tube cut to fit for my arches...and a song all sequenced in PE and I'm ready to test it out. ....can't get the lights to work in PE ...so all weekend I've been reading...checking...re checking..tearing my hair out trying to figure out WHY I HAVE NO F#@%ING lights in PE...works fine everywhere else...Then it dawned on me...My licence....Advanced. Well CRAP! You need a Pro licence to run PE. DUH!...... just not happy . I don't mind upgrading AGAIN, but it would have been nice if somewhere...someplace in the help menu or in the program itself it said in PLAIN ENGLISH that it's just a freaking DEMO and not have some IDIOT running around like some kind of moron trying to figure out what this RGB Newbie took 2 days of HELL to figure out . Pant. pant. pant. thinking that I got something configured wrong or worse. Growl- snap -snarl.... I'm fine now, hairs a little thinner, but fine. Next weekend it'll run for sure. YAY!!!! Need more lights
Uh, okay. I won't try to help again. No no, you can help...But ahh, it doesn't say anything in the program itself...that's what I was trying to say...in a funny type of way. I just didn't even think that my licence was the problem....I had to looked it up....in the same place you gave me links to.

k6ccc
You're not the only one who discovered that the hard way. It's not so much that you need pro to play PE, but that you need pro to play intensity files. However, PE only outputs intensity files. Also note that to play intensity files your network needs to be set for enhanced, and any controllers need to be new enough to operate on an enhanced network. I couldn't check it, it wouldn't give me the option. There was a small sentence in the help menu about enhanced is pro only. DING DING DING! So...this thing about any controllers need to be new enough...does that mean the CTB16PCg3's? I wasn't going to stop using those..I only have 2 but was planning on just adding the RGB's to the show...Is this going to be another ripple? k6ccc
The Gen3 controllers will work on an enhanced network, but the Gen2 and Gen1 controllers won't. If you have controllers that can't run on an enhanced network, simply use multiple networks - one enhanced and one non-enhanced.

Maybe I understood it wrong.
Vince4xmas
Make sure you have Listener running, lesson learned when trying to run auxa in LOR enhanced mode.

No. Only Gen3 controllers will work on an enhanced network. That includes all Cosmic color devices, DC controllers (both 16 & 24 channel), and of course Gen3 AC controllers. Some of those will require firmware updates. Also note that if you inputs for interactive sequences, you can NOT read inputs on an enhanced network. That is requiring me to continue to have one non-enhanced network for two input cards even after I replace the two Gen 2 AC controllers this year.
