ebrown1972 Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 For those of you who may have done the switch and are now using nothing but pixels were you happy with the end result? I am thinking very seriously of making my display completely RGB. Right now I am about half and half. The only elements I would not switch over would be my 6 channel star and my tune to sign. More than likely I would not be completely switched over until 2017 Christmas. I am just looking for input for those who have. Thanks.
Dennis Laff Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I switched in the last few years ,right now about 80% pixels still have a few props ( coro singing trees) I think look better in leds than pixels ccr 6 channel star also but with Superstar and the Pixel editor its getting a lot easier to program . 1
steve synek Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I am 100% RGB and very happy. I do a mix of dumb and smart. It has cut down my set up time considerably not messing around with the four separate colors I used to deal with. I use dumb for candy canes, stars and my small trees.
futuretechguy Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 This is my first year sequencing lights and I started with all smart pixels. Despite my inexperience my wife was so happy with the results that she has approved a budget increase for next years show. Sequenced in the Pixel Editor:
Dennis Laff Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Nice arches are they the ones that are on the Johnson family light show. What kind of tubing ? And pixels or strips inside ? Great job for first year !
EmmienLightFan Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I am going 100% RGB outside my house, but I am going to keep my mains voltage indoor silhouettes in the windows which I have received several comments about. I may add dumb RGB strips in the windows as well. This was my first year and I was happy with the result. I was 90% RGB.
futuretechguy Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Yes, the arches were made similar to the the ones used by Matt Johnson, I use 60/20m 2811 strips
k6ccc Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Not exactly made the switch, I've been RGB from the beginning. Even all my landscape lighting is RGB. The only thing that was a switch was the first landscape lights were some warm white light rope. Looked OK until the first RGB strip went in. Ordered RGB to replace the rope the same night. I'll never go back...
