My show is running and my giant arches kick butt!

Oh my gosh!! I was very worried when I decided to keep my walkthrough Halloween arches up and convert them to leaping arches.

They are fabulous!!! I had NO reason to worry!

I see a few hiccups in the show that I need to go and reprogram plus I still have to put up my 'dripping lights' and my star with contrails, but even missing those 13 channels I'm pleased as punch- only my second year and 64 channels.

I also need to figure out how to put a 'spacer' between my last programed piece and the start of the show. Right now it is instantaneous.

I'm having serious difficulty in trying to provide a link to the short video for some reason :(

Thank you for linking! I still can't get them posted- GRRRR

It's totally do-able and really easy! I wonder why more folks don't do them!

It's 2pcs of 10' pvc with a connector placed over rebar in the ground. They are about 8' wide. I then used 7sets of 50led per arch so a total of 28 channels. (and almost a 1000' of spt1) Me and my husband had them all put up in less than 5hrs from scratch (meaning putting up arches, pulling lights out of the box and building extension cords).

If you go to that link I've added a longer hd video too.

Looking good also.  I used 8 channels and two colors.  That way one controller box would control a full arch.  Using two 10' PVC pipes although last year I put about a 1 1/2' extension on both sides just to raise them up a little higher but they clear a two car driveway without any problems.  Here's just a sample of mine to give you the motivation.

I always have a hard time interpreting what or why something is called MEGA. I would like to know if mine are mega! Help me out, is it the 23' that makes it mega? Is it the 8 channels that makes it mega? Is it the number of lights that make it mega?

I cheated, or as I like to call it the poor mans mega arch. I used the end of my barn as my mega arch, 8 sections of curtain lights, 50' length, 14' at the peak. Same effect with total cost for lights and wire under $200.00. Will post video when I can get a decent clip.

My arches are 20ft long, 9 channels, 1800 mini incans, 6ft high in the middle, 13ft end to end. Less than $100 per arch....but I have 5 so that puts me at $500 plus controllers (5). Total cost for each arch is less than $300 including a controller. All my wires that control the circuits are inside the arch. It took 8hrs to build each arch (5 yrs ago) but it takes less than 1 hr to put ALL 5 in a straught line in the yard. It takes yet another hour to install the controllers and hook them up. I developed a system that perfectly aligns all 5 arches 77ft long. Stand at the end and look down the line and you only see 1 arch. You can check them out in any of the videos I have posted at kevinkolak.com.

I use CCRs for my arches which are 16' long they are attached to 20' PVC pipe (the ribbon is about 2' off the ground because of the snow) and cost about $200 each.

(and they can do a bazillion colours) :)
