ebrown1972 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 I opened a ticket on Lor's website but looking to see if others know about this. I have a 12 string pixel tree and when I powered all of my controllers on 1 of them did not power up. I took the green lid off of the controller and noticed a component broken on the inside. Right below the piece it has the letters VR1. That piece is cracked right in half. I assume I will have to send this in to get it fixed. What is the normal turnaround time for this? Also I really am not sure if this is one I bought new or one of the used ones I purchased from an individual which had not been used before. I don't mind at all paying to get it fixed. I am just wondering if I will have it back before thanksgiving night when my show hopefully kicks off. Thanks in advance for any info. Also I had tested this controller before with no problems at all. The box was never dropped or anything like that so I have no idea how it became cracked. Thanks.
saxon Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Same thing last year with CCP. worked for a while then one string all white then nothing. Opened box to find a chip had broken in 3 pieces. I AM NOT SPEAKING FOR LOR BUT, I contacted them on a Monday and I had a new one Wednesday afternoon. LOR is expensive but they pride themselves on support and warranty. I think you will be fine for Thanksgiving, IMO.
ebrown1972 Posted November 16, 2015 Author Posted November 16, 2015 I've been told I am looking at 6 weeks for turnaround time during this time of year. I do have an extra controller just for these circumstances. I just hope all goes well with all my others. I am thinking that chip would be an easy repair as long as nothing else is damaged. I do not see any other damage so I am keeping my fingers crossed.
