Problems with shared sequences

Recommended Posts

So I have tried to use some free sequences that I have found on the internet including High Country.  I have a few that work but the majority don't work.  They look great in the sequence editor but they don't work when I try to push them out through controller to my lights.  Do I need to convert S2 files to S4?  Is there something else I am doing wrong?  I am trying to pull together a 16 channel show for this Christams so any help would be appreciated.  bwagg@thinkcsc.com .

Thanks for the help in adcance.

Hi Commwagg24,

More information would help us help you.   Not sure where your experience level is.   The most obvious possibility is that your channel assignments are getting mixed up.  Are you copying and pasting from the donor sequence into your sequence, and are you checking the channel assignments?   If you're copying code from the original sequence to yours then saved, it would up upgraded to the current version.

Here's a few tutorials that may help you.

If they are playing in the Sequence Editor, then no conversion nessesary. (If there was a conversion, they wouldn't play.)

What do you mean they 'don't work' when pushing them to your lights? Nothing lights up? Things do light up but the programming looks bad?

Sorry for not having all the needed information.  I am very new to this, this is my first year.  I will take a look at the training videos that you linked, hopefully I will learn more about this software.

When I say nothing works, the lights don't light up.  The sequence plays in the editor but the lights don't turn on at all.  The programming looks great it just doesn't seem to work with the controller.

Is there anything else I should be looking at?

Thanks,

Double check to ensure the control lights is checked in your sequence editor. Sometimes overlooked.

are your controllers new do you have the proper ID's set to the controllers to match the sequence that you have.

Also check timing grid, if this is different in source and target the sequence will look funny.

The best thing to do is set a fixed timing grid on both then copy and paste. (example like 0.05)

Thanks,

Make sure control lights is ticked under Play and also you have to have the LOR USB adapter hooked up and control panel running

Thanks for all the help, I check the sequence and control lights is clicked.  I think I need to double check to see if I have the correct controller number in this sequence.  I will do that when I get home.  It's just been weird because with some I have no issues there are just a few that don't work correctly.

I would imagine the channels are just not matching up to your controller/channel configuration.

When I use a shared seq. I have to manually change the controllers, and channels.   I also dig thru the seq. and move things around to make it fit what I have.

They help insofar that the melody is mapped out, and that makes it easier (for me) to change to what I need.

Cut and Paste is amazing.

I found it guys!!  Thanks for the help.  The channels weren't mapped to any controller.  Once I figured that out it was easy!
