Papa6058
All three granddaughters moved out in April, and my wife and I feel empty. Plus I lost my three helpers when it comes to Christmas stuff. I got the big stuff out of the attic along with the 12 totes of in door decorations and my wife says she doesn't want to decorate the inside with no kids at home. It seems we aged 20 years in 6 months due to not having to keep up with the kids and my brain just can't wrap around my sequences. Kids are a blessing love and cherish them as much as you can! k6ccc
Not far from there. My boys are 21 & 23. The older one helps a lot more and enjoys the lights a lot more than the 21 year old. Both are still at home, but I would be a bit surprised if at least one moves out next year (maybe both). They were both gone for a weekend a couple weeks ago at a music festival. It was nice for my wife and I to have the house to ourselves again!

BMurray
My oldest are 24 and 22. My youngest are 17 and 16. I felt I couldn't wait to get them ALL out of the house at some point. But, as I get older I don't want them to leave. I don't know what I would do if I came home and my kids weren't here. I know is gonna happen at some point.Myself, I left the house when I was 17 and really never looked back. I don't want my kids struggling like I did when I was there age. I did tell my girls that they weren't allow to marry unless they found a gentleman that is as CRAZY about lights as I am...LOL
Mega Arch
All mine are grown & gone too. I do 100% of the outside and my wife does 99% of the inside. (I put her 3 trees together, but inside is fluff and I don't do fluff.) We decorate for us first. Then for everyone else. Papa, since I've seen your display, I can say it would be terrible for your current neighbors not to see & enjoy it. Don't want to sequence? Just use last year's neighborhood winning show. You, your wife, me, Tom & a very few others would be the only ones to know. Good weather forecasted for this weekend so git 'er done man!
Santas Helper
and my brain just can't wrap around my sequences. Papa Papa, don't worry on those sequences. I have you covered. I've been a little busy but will have them figured out for you before you go "Live". So this weekend will be nice to get lights hung. As Daniel said, git er done. tomsusie
Our kids are both in their 40s with lives of their own. Our daughter (the youngest at 40) just moved from NYC to NC and is only a 20-30 minute drive away now. I've always done all the lights (in & outside) but this year our daughter has promised to help me with the roof. She's getting into lights a little more each year. I'm hoping once they buy a house which could be within a few months that she'll get even more excited to do their home. And helping me will give her experience for her own place ad me a little help, especially up on the rooftop! It is so nice having them so close. We get a lot more time with our grandson who will turn 3 on Christmas Day. He already loves the Christmas lights!!
