Dumb RGB Fade In/Out

I am trying to fade down dumb RGB channels. This works fine as long as my colors are Red, Green or Blue.

I I try to fade a mixture of the colors it turns the color to white.

 

Please don't say fade each channel individually. At over 1000 channels no one has time for that...

Use the Color Fade Tool to pick your colors. Then fade to black.

Also try paste multiple to apply an effect to multiple channels.

Or create a group of channels and apply an effect to the single collapsed group.

Don, that's what I started doing but it seems like a couple extra steps....

No way to do this with the provided tools I guess?

I'm a little lost. The color fade tool is the tool provided for this.

 

The "Fade Down" option, which has been in the software since day 1 (what's that, 2002?) goes from 100% to 0%. If you apply a fade down on an RGB channel, it's going to go from White->Fade to Black. Why? RGB all on is white, and that's what fade down does.

 

Consider the saved tools and saved clipboards. You can create the color combination or effect, and save it for quick use later.

Ok. What your saying is LOR just isn't setup for easy RGB use.... The "fade down" makes perfect sense with a normal channel.

Turn on channel,

select fade tool,

select channels.... done.

 

But with RGB...

Select color tool,

Select color,

set "on" range on channel,

change first color to black,

select "fade up" range on channel,

change first color back to original color,

change second color to black,

select "fade down" range on channel

 

I know I can set a saved tool but any time I change the color I have to repeat this process...

 

Is that it or am I missing something?

Create fade-in in sequence.

Push swap.

Create fade-out in sequence.

Use intelligent (or is it auto) fill to fill in the space. (*I've remapped via the custom keyboard, and forget what that command is called.)

Good idea on using the fill in tool. Still think this could be easier but that does cut down on the steps.

There is just a different way to do it for RGB. It is just as easy really, just you select the colour to fade from or to.
