cmoore60
A 16D board should have the selector switches for setting the address. You should not have to use the hardware utility to set the address. The D stands for deluxe and that is the designator for the selector switches and a few other items.Chuck
donnyaz
each of my boxes have their own setting on the switches.
cmoore60
IF you boxes all have the selector switches then you do not use the hardware utility to set addresses. That is what the switches are for. Make sure you are updated to the most recent version of the hardware utility.Chuck
Bob Musil
I have a similar problem with my show. My controller #1 works fine after a power skip, but controller #2 can not be found.I am running the most recent verison of Gamma II on Vista. I have 2 controllers, both are CTB-16D with the blue motherboard, running off of ELL's. The ELL off my computer is in a window with line-of-sight to the shed where the controllers are mounted, about 50 feet away. The controller ELL's are in the shed, with cat 5 cable running out to the controllers.I have tried switching channels on contoller 2, and unplugging and replugging the power to cycle it through. Sometimes the internal LED is flashing, sometimes it is solid. Either way, the hardware uitlity is not finding #2. I even tried disconnecting #1, and it still won't find #2.If I have Gamma II, do I still need to update the Hardware Utility to 1.6.6, or is it included in the gamma? Are there specific steps for trying to recycle the power to the unit? Does anybody have any other suggestions I can try? Thanks in advance.Bob
LightORamaDan
donnyaz wrote: each of my boxes have their own setting on the switches. When a CTB16D first powers on, it reads the Unit ID switches. Later if you change the Unit ID using the Hardware Utilty, the CTB16D will change temporarly to that address but only until it restarts. When it restarts, it will revert back to the Unit Id set on the switches. If you have a CTB16D that has its unit ID switches set to 03 and it is not recognized as 03 by the hardware utility then there is a problem with ID switches or the switches are not set properly. Try rotating the switches a couple of revolutions and reset them to 03. If that does not work try setting it to 04 and see if that works. If you do not find it then open up Max Units to 240 and scan all Unit IDs looking for it.-----You also mentioned in a post that "Set Unit ID" did not work. That is because, Set Unit ID only works on contollers without Unit ID switches AND it only works the when you receive the unit fresh from the factory (and has no unit id). Bob Musil
Thanks, Dan. maxing my unit search showed me where my problem was. As it turned out, I have LOR1602's, and your advice was still spot on.
