radioguy1007
I bought 3 50 watt floods for my display to replace 6 red/green/blue incandescent floods from the past. I added them to my Halloween setup to give them a try. All I can say is WOW! They illuminate the house so evenly and with the instant on-off of the light, simulating lightning is more realistic than ever. I used a concrete block with 3/8 inch stainless steel cement posts to mount / hold them in place. they are going nowhere with that 40 pound block. I was concerned about the mounting here in Wisconsin - but the block idea is going to work out just fine.

engrdan
A question...how far away from your house did you mount them?
EvilM0nkey
I did the opposite. I have mine facing out. Love them!
LOR Staff
I did the opposite. I have mine facing out. Love them! Ahh, the old 'blinders' trick. You can't believe how upset I was as a teenager when I discovered that all those really cool bands using pyro were actually using blinders to 'enhance' the effect. Slow mo concert footage some time of a band that uses flash pyro. The pyro goes off, and it is wimpy! Just after (like milliseconds) these huge 50 bajillion watt spot lights (called blinders) turn on briefly and then go out. The effect is you think you just saw a nuclear explosion, but what you really saw was a firecracker and some bright lights.
