Mega Tree Tower Going up in OKC Saturday - Invite

Saturday, October 17th @ 1:00pm (SW Oklahoma City)

I'm announcing this to the public for anyone wanting to come help or just visit.

Mega Arch (Daniel) will be there to help as he did last year.

Raising a 33' tower is a feat in it's self, but attaching Morty (the skeleton) will be the start to my little Halloween season. :)

For newbies or veterans, we can make it a greet and visit, show and share or what ever.

If you want to bring something to show/share or just talk about, I encourage it.

Not many chances to see something this size going up, at least around here.

So if you're interested, please PM me and I'll provide the address.

Hope to meet new folks and look forward to seeing veterans again.

Tom

Well I get home from work and I see someone can't wait to get the tower up.

Morty was trying to do it on his own but he just didn't have the muscle to move it, or the butt. LOL :)

I told him wait till Saturday. What does he do? Sits on it like a spoiled child. The stuff I have to put up with.

Of course I can't blame him. He's waited all year to put up on that tower, and he will be in two days.

Wish I had a Lear jet sitting on the tarmac just waiting for me to jump into it and take off Friday evening.

Have fun and be safe all. I do like your method of raising it. Beats using a gin pole.

Hell, I would love to join you, except for two little problems. One is that I'm over 1,000 miles away, and the other is that I have to get my GECE lights up on my eves (because I use those for Halloween) that day... My boys will both be at a music festival the following weekend, so this weekend is it...

I think from his fiendish grin that Morty is enjoying straddling that tower just a bit too much, if you know what I mean ...

Good thing the eyes on your house don't wander that much.

I fell bad that I can't make it brothers. I hope you have a blast and are very safe. You have the best process of erecting a tower that I know of.

... You'll have Morty to help. :D

Yeah, I know Morty said he'd be there,

but if it's like last year, he's not much help.

He just kinda hangs around and watches us.

Thinking about it, that's really kinda creepy.

I will be there in about 10 months to help.  Will that be fine??

Sure, we do this year round. :)

Well, the tower is up. With the help of Daniel, Raplh and my neighbor Kirk.

Ralph is a new member here on the forum and so he came to help. Nice to meet ya Ralph. It was good to meet and visit with ya.

So from left to right, it's Ralph, Kirk, Morty and Daniel.

I think Daniel was doing a little dancing with Morty. It's better not to ask, so I just let them two be.  :D

Morty wasn't much help so we attached him to the tower.

Attached the star and ole glory.

Up he goes. Ralph had to show Daniel up on lifting the tower himself. :)

Well, we decided to use the winch on Kirks truck. Didn't want Ralph flexing too much muscle.

Then attaching the base bolts and guy wires.

Morty is on top the world, once again. :)
