jacobw1980
I have setup displays in the past for Christmas and July 4th and am familiar with LOR and Holiday Lights Designer. What I am not familiar with is the Mega Tree. We are planning a mega tree this year and would like some input. I can use up to 32 channels and would like at least two colors. I am open to suggestions on tree design (HLD), not actually building it, and sequence help. I would like to build my tree along the lines of others so when I find shared sequences, I can use those also with minimal tweaking. Any help is much appreciated!! Mega Arch
I had 16 plus a star last year. Mega Tree Makeover Year! Going with 64 channels on tree - RWB-G, 3 star channels & a strobe channel. I studied other's ideas and decided to stay with 16 channels per color. Really trying to do my own sequencing this year, but most of the shared sequences I received were increments of 16 too. I've seen some great 12's, and even Kevin Kolak's unconventional tree. They all look great, but seems more 16's out there. Now others will tell you to save your money and only do spiral trees that mega trees are over. So I'm adding a spiral too. But I still think a mega tree can rock your lighting world. Good luck with whatever you decide.
jacobw1980
Thanks for the info. Do you have any sequences to share? Also, do you use Holiday Lights Designer to design the tree?
Santas Helper
I did the same as Mega Arch. 16 channels per color. I have three strands of the same color on each channel to make the tree look fuller. so I have 48 strands of red on a 16 channel controller, 48 strands of white on a 16 channel controller and the same for blue and green. Then the star and strobes on another controller.
Mega Arch
Thanks for the info. Do you have any sequences to share? Also, do you use Holiday Lights Designer to design the tree? No, I have never used the Holiday Lights Designer. I use the visualizer which is the item right under the Holiday Lights Designer. Here's a great place to get your visualization files: http://www.landolights.com/main/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,54/func,select/id,24/orderby,2/page,1/ Here's a great place to download some free sequences to get you started: http://www.highcountrylights.com/links/free-sequences.html
