trevorholm
I have 5 new CCB units this year and am working on sequencing. It is my first time working with RGB devices but for the most part, these are working great. However, once in a while I am seeing a flicker on some of the CCB strings. This seems to happen when some of the strings are programmed to fade just before some of the other strings. When the last string fades, the first few strings flicker. I am running the S3 software with CCB firmware 1.18. Do I need to upgrade to the latest firmware or S4?
George Simmons
The flicker could be caused by having too many channels on a network. It could be caused by a bad/failing comm cable. Maybe half a dozen other things also. But if you've done a bunch of copy/paste, that would be the first thing I'd check into. It's easy to wind up with orphaned fade-ends laying around in RGB channels that you can't see glancing at the Sequence Editor. If you always see the flicker in the same place of the sequence start investigating there.
trevorholm
Thanks Neighbor. I only have the 5 CCB units on a HS network but I'll try switching cables and and double check my copy/paste this evening as the flicker is in a consistent location. May also try my backup computer just to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the tips.
George Simmons
If it's always in the same location, it's almost certainly something in the sequence. Everything else I know would tend to be much more intermittent. It can be tedious to find, but if it's in the same spot it narrows things down greatly. Check the macro channels in that/those spot(s) also. Welcome to the forum! Where are you located in Becker? Gr8jeepin
Hi Trevor - Hopefully you figured this out by now. I too had a similar issue... I was using 320 individual channels for a CCB sting instead of the RGB channels... and found I had accidentally pasted into some of the macro channels... which caused some of the weird flickering. Clearing the macro channels fixed my issue. Good luck.
