Clever or "Fiendishly" clever? You decide ...

Sharon likes spiral trees and also Morning Glorys. George hates tearing down and wishes he could just leave everything in place from year-to-year.

After I told her where I planted her favorite vine, she quit asking when the spiral tree frame was coming down.

They are indeed a pain. I made the mistake of planting them along a chain-link fence once. Thought it would look cool. It did. Took me hours, literally, to remove the remnants from the fence. Took three years until no more voluntaries came up.

I began this particular method of not having to remove and then replace prop frames a few years back at the site of my old-school matrix. It had MGs the first year and ever since then I've used it for hanging plants. (Also works great for holding demo/prototype props during the off-season.) I'll try to remember to post a pic tonight.

When I was doing only static displays prior to getting into LOR, I made the big mistake of using a spiral tree frame for allowing a climbing rose vine to take over it.   I'll NEVER do that again!   Really difficult getting the lights around the thorns...:unsure:
