Dcroc
Yeah, their stuff looks great. However, it is cheaply made. I have not had one last 2 seasons without breaking in one way or another. I'm very careful with my props. They simply do not hold up. Even walking through their stores, it is very rare to have more than half the props still working after the first couple weeks. Then when you contact them about it, they just give you the name of the manufacturer of the product, and that ends any help from them.
Orville
Agree with Dcroc on Spirits animatronic products. Spirit is a once you bought it, no refund, no exchange policy. So they really don't stand behind the items they sale, no matter what it is, if it breaks, they send you off to the manufacturer. I would have loved to have the new 3 headed dog Cerberus {which I had to correct their spelling on, they had him named incorrectly as Cerebus, but they did correct it}, and not even a thank you or anything for letting them know. Cerberus is the 3 headed dog from Hell, which their version connecting to a fog machine and the animation would have been really cool, but like Dcroc states, cheaply made and if you're lucky, you may get 2 seasons out of it, if you're very lucky, you might see 3, maybe 4, but doubtful. Sad thing is, I bought a couple of animatronic skeletons from Wal-Mart at a year apart from each other, one an Undertaker in 1997 and a pirate version in 1998, funny thing is the pirate from 1998 died in 2013 and got dismantled for parts for the undertaker, which I have only had to make a mod to get him to dance, as that was the only part that stopped working on him, other than that{well added some incan lights to him}, Undertaker Skeleton is still going strong in 2015! Only paid $59.95 for Undertaker and $69.95 for the Pirate, but they being "inexpensive"{read CHEAP!} outlasted ANY animatronic I have ever bought from Spirit! Lights, fog fluid, spotlights, standard screw in socket strobes, some static props I'll buy from Spirit. But as far as their animatronics go, after buying and getting what I feel burned, since it didn't even last ONE season, I like to look, but for their prices{way overpriced for the quality received in my book!}, I'll leave them. Another thing is, why can't they make these things outdoor usable in a light rain{drizzle}? Just about all of them state indoor use only, very few say "covered porch" or "covered area" use, neither of which I have and have no room to build such an enclosure for them. You'd think with todays technologies these things could be built to withstand the elements outside. Just my opinion, your mileage may differ. Spirit Halloween stuff it cool looking but not worth a crap. I received one and it didn't even work out of the box. They are very cheaply made.
