Big Lots has Christmas

I was in the local Big Lots yesterday and they have been putting out there Christmas merchandise.  I needed some green lights to finish my coro props.  I was hoping for LEDs but had to settle for incandescent.  They did have red, blue and white leds though.  So, if you are in need of some lights to finish a project, it might be worth a trip to your Big Lots.

Yep, they start putting out their Halloween items around end{last week} of July beginning of August, and then the Christmas stuff shows up from 1-3 weeks later, around mid to late August in my area.

I recall when you didn't find Halloween décor in stores until about the 2nd week of September and Christmas items were never out at the same time as Halloween décor, the Christmas stuff usually didn't show up until the beginning of November!      My how the times have changed on how retail stores put out and display Halloween and Christmas, well, any Holiday décor now.

But at least for us holiday decorator light display to music animators, I guess it's a good thing they start early, but still not early enough for some of us. LOL

Thanks for posting this. I am on holiday in Florida and needed a few green for this year. Just picked them up at a Big Lots we were passing.

Hey Tony, where about in Florida are you visiting?  They also just opened a Spirit Halloween Store just up the road from me as well on East S.R.50/Colonial Drive in Orlando, if you're interested,  Great place to find those Halloween goodies/props if you do a Halloween display.

Saw 18ft ropelight there for $7.50.

Has anyone bought theirs and successfully cut it down? I would imagine it's cutable, but I didn't have time to roll it out and try to see if had cut marks or not. (& didn't have the right glasses with me. Ouch. I'm that guy. )

Hi I'm down on the 192 between the I4 and 27. The store isn't too far away but we don't do Halloween just Christmas. I already have loads of stuff to get home including 3 controllers 500 foot of SPT2, 25 strobes and lots of extras. Not sure I have room for much else. Might check out the store if I get up to the 50 just for interest. Cheers Tony

Rats, for some reason quoting doesn't work in I.E. 11.  Ugh!

Too far for me Tony, since you're down Kissimmee way, I'm in Northeast Orlando{although that gets debatable LOL!}.  legally blind and so no longer drive or own a vehicle, just thought if you may have been near where I am maybe could have met up for a moment or two.   Always enjoy meeting others on the forums I access when possible.

Anyway, hope you're having a wonderful vacation and a great time here in Florida!

Cheers,

I went to hobby lobby and bought about 60 boxes to do the white on my singing Christmas trees. So far I've found two of the boxes only had 48 lights instead of 50
