I have a J1Sys controller. I am adding a new PixCon 16 controller. Do I run my cat5 from the first controller (E1.31) to the second controller without any issues?

Also, do I address the second controller as 10.10.10.11 if my first controller is addressed 10.10.10.10 or just address the channels within the second controller. Meaning the J1Sys controller is universe 1-12 then the PixCon would be 13-28

Hope this makes sense

No.  E1.31 uses Ethernet.  Ethernet needs NETWORKING hardware.  Ethernet does NOT Daisy chain.

Every device attached to the network will require a unique IP address.

Thanks guys for the info. So if I get the afformentioned network switch, I would come out of my computer to the switch, from the switch I would extend to my controllers from seperate ports and each controller would have their own IP address. My J1Sys controller already has an address of 10.10.10.11. could I address the PixCon controller to 10.10.10.12? or do I need a different network address?

Not sure how the pixcon works, but yes that is what you would have to do. In my case I run 3 P12R's and each have there own IP address.

I'm not sure how the PixCon works either. I just purchased one in the summer sale, should be here in a few days. I'm just trying to get a grasp on things before it gets here. This is probably why I havent added any other controllers, for the lack of knowledge. I can tell you though, this forum is such a great help and even though we have never met, Andy Harrison and his videos sure take a lot of guess work out of things. Since kudos are going out, I want to give one to Default for making it easy for me to make a spider wed via his spinner video/info plus utilizing the visualizer which I have never used until 3 months ago.

Thanks bdeditch and DevMike for the info.
