My wife sent me a picture today of a 48" christmas illumination snowman. In box and everything. I know I didn't order it and I don't to much of neighborhood either. Guess someone remembered my house 8 months later and figured I'd use it. Now I feel obligated to put it out this season lol. Kinda nice wish I coulda said thanks
rainyoregonchristmas Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 I have made it known in the community that I gladly take used Christmas lights. I've had three rubber made totes just left on my porch this summer brimming with Christmas goodies.
Orville Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Never had that experience. Would love to experience It though! I could always use more blow molds and small Christmas trees for the yard, I'll take Halloween lights and goodies too!
bill_weaver Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Same here that would be awesome to open the door and find Christmas goodies sitting there.
rainyoregonchristmas Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Find your local community Facebook site, most cities have them now, and tell who you are and offer to take any lights or decorations. I offer to take them working or not. I can repair most issues that cause most average decorators to chuck items. Two of my totes were from folks moving who didn't want to drag spiral trees and wire frame snowmen across the country.
Jaynee Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I had this happen last year! A truck pulled into our driveway and it was a man form our neighborhood that was moving into an apartment now that his house had sold. He said he always loved our display and hoped his own decorations would come in handy. In the end, we only kept a few things he offered, but we thought that was very cool that he thought of us rather than just tossing everything.
