Summer Sale? Anyone got a scoop?

IF we have a sale, we start dropping hints about a week before the event so please keep an eye on our website (http://www.LightORama.com) and/or our forums (http://forums.LightORama.com.)

We also send out an email right before the sale begins. Be sure to sign up at http://www1.lightorama.com/email-signup/

Anyone that says they know anything about a sale who isn't part of LOR can not be relied upon to have correct information.

This is the second time a response has been started by a big IF. Just remember there is only 89 days until Nov 1st.

Unless the PixCon 16 is released before or just prior to the sale, I'm afraid I won't be participating this summer.

There is a post about it in the important announcement section of the form, but it doesn't say much. In fact it's the same response that Mike gave in this thread.

Here's the thing folks.  There are only 2 people in the entire company that know if/when a sale will be held.  Those 2 people are Dan & Mary.  That is the reason you see a lot of 'IFs' and 'Usuallys'.

Dan and Mary insulate us from all the sales drama stuff (thankfully!) by simply not giving us the information.  That way we don't get bombarded with questions like:

  • When is the sale?
  • What is on sale?
  • Is 'x' on sale?
  • When does the sale end?
  • Are there any special discounts?
  • What will the price of 'x' be?
  • ....

When we do get those questions, we can be honest and say "We don't know", because we don't.  Usually we find out about the sale at the same time you do.  Well, that's a lie.  Usually we get a days notice so we can be ready to be killed with questions the following day.  Questions like:

  • What is on sale?
  • Is 'x' on sale?
  • When does the sale end?
  • Are there any special discounts?
  • What will the price of 'x' be?
  • ....

At which time we can again honestly say "We don't know" since we didn't get that info either :)

So that we don't get accused of playing favorites, everyone gets the canned response:

"We start dropping sale hints about a week before the event so please keep an eye on our website (http://www.LightORama.com) and/or our forums (http://forums.LightORama.com.)

No it doesn't get old as I specifically became a Gold member just to get first Dibbs during the Spring and Summer Sale.....So I was told anyway.

Us platinum members got our emails last weekend. It was embedded in our windows 10 downloads as a Christmas light wrapped inside a snow ball hidden in an Easter Egg

Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe Dev Mike was told a couple days ago to start dropping hints?

C'mon guys, am I the only sharp tack in the drawer?

I will say that Mike was right. That canned answer has been in the help desk for at least 2 years now.

Honestly:  I know NOTHING about IF/WHEN a sale will occur.  I actually PREFER it that way.  I don't like to lie, so by withholding the information from me (and the other schlubs who you may come in contact with) we don't have to.

If eventually one is scheduled, I'll know at about the same time that you will.
