Meegan Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 I have a small frontal area on my house but like the look of the RGB floods. The single 50w may not be quite enough but I'm sure the 8 pack of 10w would be overkill. Anyone else had this type of issue? Suggestions?
George Simmons Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 You can get a lot more creative with 8 floods. For instance, I've seen some pretty cool rainbow/color morph effects with the floods closer together. You might even turn a couple of them towards the street.
Jim Hans Posted July 21, 2015 Posted July 21, 2015 Better too much than too little. Nothing says you have to use all 8.
beckntrav Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Why not go with the 8 pack and only utilize what you need and use the remaining channels for something else?
larryk5 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I agree the 8 pack will allow you to be more creative, but when it comes to money, the 8 pack is $469 without power supply and enclosure. The 2 50 watters would be $300 and include everything, also less work.
Dcroc Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 i picked up a set of 5 that someone was selling here for around $125. Add controller, power supply, and enclosure, and I'm into it for about $250. I found 5 is a nice amount to do my house, but added one more ($29), just for GP's. Good deals can be found, but it can take awhile for them to come around.
larryk5 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Most likely you will save money during the summer sale, whenever that is!!!!! Soon I hope!
ezimnow Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Ive got an 8 pack I bought during the Spring sale ..brand new if interested

Shop the upcoming summer sale and it will be even less than that. Just saying ...

During the summer sale both the 10w and the 50w will be on sale if the sale even happens.

So $39 for probably 50 or more effects compared to just turning on and off 2 50 watts, just saying lol. I bought my floods off eBay and hacked them watching Netflix on a Saturday night, running them off a cmb24, I'm maybe into my setup, controller, enclosure, power supply and floods for $250
larryk5 Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 I understanding what you are saying, but the OP stated he had a small area to cover, so 2 50w would be easier to put together than the 8 with a controller. It's just a option! I have both and the 50w took 5 minutes to setup, everything in one box.
