Lightson Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I was fortunate to come across a yard sale a few weeks ago where the were selling eight vintage Christmas Blow Molds. The seller was asking $2.00 per piece (yes, two dollars each). I couldn't help myself but to purchase all eight. One of the blow molds is the Holiday Innovation's 60" Mechanical Santa. He is in pretty good shape, although someone in his past attempted touch up paint him in numerous areas which didn't hold up well. May plan is to try to restore him. His motor works and the cross members are attached in is upper body. However, the plastic shaft that connected the upper body to the motor is broke off and was not with him and the linkage to drive his rotation is missing. I was wondering if anyone may have these pieces and would be willing to part with them or if anyone knows where they could be obtained. I would like to restore him to original if possible, before attempting to fabricate some other solution to make him turn. Even if anyone has some pictures of the motor and connections showing how this was originally put together it would be greatly appreciated. Some pics below of the find. Thanks,Herb
Papa6058 Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I would have paid much more. I am looking for some older blomolds

MikeERWNC Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Nice.I scored some at a dead people auction. 5.00 each. The other bidders all know of my show and let me have them.
Orville Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Nice score and finds for a really good price{deal}! Wish I could help more with the mechanics. I usually fabricate repairs with wire hangers and vice grips. LOL At least that's how I repaired an animated wireframe cat and an animated wireframe spider I had. Worked for many years like that until the motors finally gave out on them.
