Deacon
I bought a RGB Flood 8 pack with controller during the spring sale, already had one, but though it'd be a good idea to get another. Well... the wife thought differently and it's got to go unfortunately. Everything is still packaged up and not been used/tested. I want to get what I paid for it, less the cost of shipping I incurred. $260 plus shipping (I'm not sure the exact cost of shipping but can give an estimate with a zip code for shipping via FedEx). robongar
I'm not sure, at what cost. But, you could probably return it to LOR
mpageler
Try returning them. Anybody interest in the 8 pack could buy them for the same price at the next LOR summer sale. They would get a full warrenty which isn't the case with buying 2nd hand hardware, even if it's new, like yours.
Orville
Hmm, quoting doesn't seem to be functioning.... @mpageler: I think you might be mistaken, seem to recall that LOR still honors their warranty period, even if the item changes hands. Say someone bought an LOR item to give as a gift, then your logic would dictate that the recipient wouldn't get a valid warranty because they didn't buy it themselves. So if someone bought the OP's 8 pack they're trying to sell to someone else, I think the LOR Warranty would still stand, but there is on caveat to that, the warranty starts from the original sale date of the product, not the date it changes hands. I'm sure if I am mistaken on this, someone from the LOR company will chime in and correct any incorrect statements, but I seem to recall that LOR will always stand behind their products, no matter if bought directly from the LOR site, a partner site or a private individual selling off equipment, and any warranty that may still be in effect at the time of the sale to another individual would still be honored and good. If I'm in error{but I don't think I am}, I'm sure someone from LOR will chime in and set the record straight. That's what I thought too, that the warranty would still remain, but can't seem to find the specific terms anywhere.
mpageler
http://www1.lightorama.com/warranties/ Here's the LOR warranty page. States for "1st end user". Obviously it's up to LOR on how they define this when one end user, tries to sell NIB equipment to another end user which is different than gift giving. Dcroc
Isn't there someone here from LOR that could answer this, or is it only the software people that post here? Maybe try posting the question in the "hardware" forum? Also, and I don't mean to thread crap on a For Sale thread, but asking the same price that a person could get it straight from LOR is a bit of a turn off to buyers. I understand not wanting to eat a loss, but it's simply the way the market works, and I would think that you will have a hard time unloading these at full retail. Even if you knock $20 off it's not a big loss, and makes the package a little more of a "deal". At the very least, you may want to add "Or Best Offer". The offers you get would help put the actual value of these "pre-owned but new" lights more into perspective. Could also try breaking the package up. Not everyone needs 8 floods, and it opens the market a bit wider. One last suggestion....everybody here is kinda educated simply by spending a few mins on these forums, but I see a lot of stuff sell on Ebay that is way above the price of new, so you might have better luck there. Either way, good luck with the sale. If I hadn't just bought some of these I would probably make an offer, but I just don't need 8 more. You could always just add them to your display. It's not like you can ever have to many, as there are all kinds of things you can do with these other than just light up the house. For example, they look great going up the pole on a mega tree, or along the roof line facing out. I don't see me ever saying "I have too many of these" in this hobby.
