craigecooper
Since 32" TV's are so cheap, I was wondering if anyone has used one for a "tune to" sign / "next song" playing / general text info type display mounted on the house ? Enclosed in plexi ? Just curious. thanks,Craig
mpageler
Would seem to be overkill with effort better places thowards the display itself.
EmmienLightFan
I think that is a really good idea, I create video for things like this, and edit videos, so if you need that search for the thread "Free video editing for all"

They cost a lot more than a tv and the resolution stinks. Its very hard to get a good image on it with the resolution so low at 24 x 25.
EmmienLightFan
Yes. Matrices are limiting to low resolution images and text, and people still need a while to work out what a picture is. With a TV, you get a much higher resolution (At least 1280x720 on every flat screen)! The only problem is size. It is cheaper to make a low res 70" matrix than it is to buy a 70" TV. That is why for larger displays in professional use they have huge LED screens that work in exactly the same way as our matrices. Anyway, I think this is a really good idea! godman
Last year I used a Scepter 32" TV for sequence videos, announcements, show hours, website etc My neighbors thought I was nuts hanging a 32" TV to my house but little did they know it was cheaper that building one. I think I paid $99.00 for it at Black Friday sale. The nice part about it is that you can create content in PowerPoint or another software program and just have it repeat all night long. The other advantage is you can create FULL COLOR custom graphics etc, I will be using it again this year.

Like it didn't reset. Anyway, all this to say if I can get 32" for $99,I like it. Now since I'm posting anyway, I'll continue....At $99 each, well I might have to make a stringer or pyramid of them and try to sequence them into my show! Was the 32" panel under cover or in a weather exposed enclosure ?
godman
It hung under my eaves out of any direct rain, I think it rained 2 days during the display and I covered the back with plastic just in case, I'll have to look for some pics,32" is still a little small when your 40' away. George Simmons
As for me, when the day comes that people would rather be watching a television screen instead of my display, that's the day all my controllers go up for sale.
