Great News!

This year, instead of sequencing our home, we are now doing our whole street- so 15 houses total.  So my husband came up with the idea of becoming a non-profit (501©3) in order to get sponsors to help pay for the computer equipment.  We started the process in January for the non-profit and I am thrilled to announce that our 501© status was approved by the IRS in record time!  I submitted the application on March 13th and it was approved retroactively back to Feb 5th!  We received the letter this past Saturday..Happy Happy Happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good news indeed that any part of the gov works that fast!

Have you researched how having corporate sponsors changes your status regarding music licensing? I don't mean to pee in your cereal, but you could be opening a huge can of Pandora's Box worms, especially if you acknowledge the corporate help in any public way. I don't wish to see a followup post proclaiming Sad Sad Sad!!!!!!!!

Please provide updates on the 15 house project as you make this happen. Good idea to get the neighborhood involved.

Max, I miss your avatar.

I think the kilt was getting a bit frayed so in the spirit of modesty he removed it to have it repaired before his "bagpipes" fell out.

No need to be worried Max. I just thought it was a pretty cool avatar. As I said, pretty cool especially when the wind blows.
