Old Sarge
Papagayo is a good thing and Bobs Program to put it into LOR is awesome.. Bob worked with me for a few hours helping me learn more about papagayo and his program... Many thanks go out to Bob and his invaluable assistance. I have been using Papa to get the basics done and then going back over and trying to work out some of the bugs or seq parts that I don't care for. It really does help and be sure to do most things in sections and cant stress enough.... Make Sure You Have ALL the right words in Papa for it to do its job. Dont depend on everything you copy paste from the net for lyrics to be the correct ones. Listen to them and read thm together.
jerry72
How to you reduce the amount of Phonemes to say just 4 or 5?
ItsMeBobO
There are some like O0o which can be dropped. Almost everyone does use a compressed set. In Papagayo however, you use all 10. The dropping out or compressing happens in the Papagayo to LOR program. There you say the translation of which phonemes in the source trigger channels in the output sequence. Oh ok, i though you could reduce it in papagayo to try and simplify things.
ItsMeBobO
Sometimes I do remove some sounds. Spoken words are usually more clear with better diction. When sung we draw sounds out and often merge or drop. In that case you do delete a specific instance of a phoneme. But I think your best result overall would be to align all the sounds you can hear in papagayo. And then do your best with the shapes on your prop to blink that mouth shape which most closely represents the sound. indi
Bobo, I am going to retire this October, and was hoping you where planning another get together sometime next year. St. Louis is only a few hours away, and I could really use help on using papagayo. I'm not the sharpest pencil in the box when it comes to computers. Thanks for everything you do to make things easier for us in this hobby.
Old Sarge
I have used it and tried to to use for a lot of different songs... some it comes out ok others I find the timing is way way off or the mouth positions are nit there so i end up doing more free hand or changes on it than I think I should have to do... I haven't given up totally on it. It is a awesome program I think after a person really gets it down and uses it a lot I just haven't got it all figured out yet... But I still try a lot just to even get some parts out of it . I am still working on a song by the Temptations... will let you know in the sequence forum when I get it finished... have been working on it for about a week on and off.. all free handed.. because for me its to complicated to try it on Papagayo.. Old Sarge
I hate to say it but after trying and trying to get Papagayo timing right when I import it into LOR using Bobs import program my timing is till way off... I have checked and rechecked to make sure it is set for 25 which it is... I have changed my timings in lot to .04 and still no matter what I try it seems to be off not just a tiny bit but by as much as 3 to 5 seconds.. Does anyone have any idea what i may be doing wrong... I can send you the papagayo file, my lor file etc. If you can check it for me.. I have tried running it with mp3 music in lor and wave file both and cannot get it to time close.. Any help would be greatly appreciated... I have done most of my songs that I have done faces for either free hand or by using papagayo and then looking at what shows up there and free handing it to my LOR channels.. I am happy with using it and like playing with it... I just cant for the life of me get the timing close to where they should be with the music.. Bob spent a lot of time with me a couple times a few months back and was a great help in helping me learn the basics for it and slao was so very helpful in teaching me how to set up and use the visualizer in lor. Thank to anyone that can help me. Oh and before you say it... I have searched all over the forums for my question and answer and I have watched BOBS great tutorials on Papagayo and have not found the answer or I wouldnt be putting it here retired_old_sarge@yahoo.com Edited August 8, 2015 by Old Sarge
ItsMeBobO
Hey Old Sarge You dont have to wait till you have completely spent your patience to ask a question. This is a good place and someone will answer if you nicely ask for help like you have. First. the timings in LOR SE do not matter. You MUST select paste by time option. Also there is a checkbox which says to trim leading space which should be unchecked when you generate the clipboard. It is still possible you have 24fps in your .pgo file instead of 25. Open the .pgo with notepad and look at line 3. change it to 25 if needed. But when you do you will have to slide all the words back in papagayo. While you are looking at the .pgo. Notice the name of the music file on line 2. Make 100% sure that your media in SE is the same EXACT one. If you are not absolutely sure then make sure. Sometimes we trim or edit .wav files and forget to give them a new name. So.. copy the Papagayo audio to your LOR audio folder and make sure its the same .wav
Old Sarge
Thanks Bob... I will check that.. I haven't had time to check it yet. I was trying to be careful when I was doing it and It should be set for 25. I will check and make sure... It may be the the trim leading space box.... I don't remember even seeing that box... hahaha Thanks again Bob..

Success will elude you if your song has 24FPS. Close and reopen and verify it still says 25FPS when you change it. Or open the file in notepad to be very sure.
