dgrant
So, sitting here this morning on my non-show computer, attempting to open SS in S4 for the first time. I'm just seeing a message window pop up stating:"Ran out of sequencing rows. Try importing the visualization again and set "scrunch" in the Import Visualization dialog box." Problem is, this was a fresh install, nothing had been commanded yet and certainly not an import of any visualization. Just to be sure, I reinstalled S4 again, rebooted, then attempted to run S4's SS again...same message window appears. I do see a %42 CPU utilization for the SS program but nothing else ever appears on the screen, even after several minutes of letting it run. This is a Core I7 laptop 16gb ram, Windows 8.
BrianBruderer
Sorry about that, it is confusing to get a visualization error when you are not in visualization mode and have not imported a visualization. To give some background, even when you are in CCR mode, superstar loads in a visualization at launch time, and that is the visualization it goes to if you do go into visualization mode. The default is to use a visualization named "Sample.lee". In addition, in the past releases superstar did not report visualization errors at launch time in order to prevent confusion like what is happening to you. However, I had a case for myself where I didn't find a visualization problem because I was not reporting the errors at launch time, so for this release I chose to report the errors. When you say this is a fresh install, do you mean it is the first time you have ever put any version of S3 or S4 on the computer? Or do you mean that it is a fresh install of S4 on a computer that was running S3? When you get the error, it should say the name of the visualization file that caused the error. What is the name of the visualization file in the error box?
dgrant
This computer was running S3, now upgraded to S4. The only error message I see is precisely what I typed. "Ran out of sequencing rows. Try importing the visualization again and set "scrunch" in the Import Visualization dialog box" There is nothing else displayed such as a file name. I reinstalled S4 again but got the same result
BrianBruderer
Try the following: 1) launch superstar, after getting the error message click on Ok2) Click on the File menu and select "Import Visualization"3) Select a visualization file that you know imports without problems. One that you can do is to navigate to the "Samples" folder and select "Sample.lee"4) Click on Ok5) Click on the Tools menu and select "Layout"6) In the Layout dialog box, click on "CCR Mode" to go back to CCR mode7) Shut down SuperStar8) launch superstar and you should no longer get the error message If that does not solve the problem let me know
dgrant
Unfortunately I never get the option to say "Ok" to it...just sits there. I let it run for 30 minutes and not once did it return. I've tried this multiple times with the same results. My next step will be to uninstall LOR completely, back up all my files and save to another location, reboot, then reinstall and see what happens. BrianBruderer
Sorry for the problem. The other thing to do delete or rename the following file: c:/ (your lightorama folder) / SuperStar / SSEdit.cfg If you have time, before deleting the SSEdit.cfg file, please email it to brian@superstarlights.com After deleting or renaming the SSEdit.cfg file you should be able to launch superstar without an error. Again, if that does not fix the problem let me know.

jerry72
Ok have to ask, what is S4? Right now i currently have version 3.11.2. I tried upgrading to 3.12.2, but dialog box said there was no upgrade for me.
BrianBruderer
S4 is in beta right now. You can try it out here. As for upgrading from 3.11.2 to 3.12.2 you should be able to do that. Exactly what did the dialog box say about there being no upgrade? Write down word for word exactly what it said.
jerry72
So i went to LOR directly, checked my license and it says my license will support S4, but when i tred to upgrade with LOR open, no go, so i downloaded it directly. Now to just figure out the new DMX visualizer that way when i buy the sequences for a 16 CCR tree i can convert it over ot DMX.
