Passing of a lighter.

It is with a heavy heart that I let you guys know I have learned that a newbie in the Portland Metro area has passed before he could setup his first animated display.  I had met with him this last season and had planned to be a Christmas mentor for his first year.  I have received a message from his widow seeking help to make his vision a reality.  I am waiting for her response back so I don't know where things stand yet, but I wanted to start things off seeking help for her.

If you're in the PDX area, make a mental note around the beginning of the lighting season I may be asking for a day of your time to help setup his display.

If you're out of the area, I may be asking for help sequencing or adapting sequences to his display.  (Don't ask how many channels, I don't know yet.)  I have seen some of his sequences that he was working on and for a newbie, he was doing well.

So let me know if you will be willing to help in the near, and far future.  Either post to this link, or send me a PM.

Tragic and sad news.    We're not able to travel there from Indiana, but may be able to provide some help remotely.

Ok, so looks like we may be looking at a 96 channel setup.  I'm getting the channel layout and visualizer files, then once I have that, maybe we can come up with three sequences to go along with his.  I have  a couple of local guys that will be looking at helping out, but more are definitely welcome and needed. I'd love to be able to have everything ready as far as sequences, then show up with a crew and do setup on just one weekend. Maybe even just one day, which would be cool.

Thoughts?

Wish we could come help you.

Yes, IMO it can be done in a day. When you have LOR users helping you, it's amazing. It takes me weeks and weeks by myself (which I love and wouldn't change).

But we had an Oklahoma City user who needed to move his show at the last minute. 3 experienced LOR guys took down a 20 ft mega tower, multiple house and bush circuits and moved across town. Reset it up at the new property. All in 1 day.

So, yes, if you have some experienced helpers, 1 day. A weekend for sure.

Good luck with your great cause.

It's time to call in the favors.  If you're in the Pacific Northwest, it's time to setup Monica's display to honor her late husband.  If you can help please contact Brandon or myself so we can set a time and day to do it.

Good luck Matt. I would love to make it, but my own wooh's have me behind still. The weather has not helped either. Tell Monica hi, take pics.

If you missed it.  A group of intrepid lighters made it to Ron and Monica's house and put up his display.  You can see pictures and comments on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Rainy-Oregon-Christmas-418988341560636/?fref=ts

If you want to help out, I have just completed a channel layout and visualizer file.  Send me a message on my facebook page and I'll send you the files and an email address to send them to.
