ericm
I have been reading through the description on the LOR store pages, and it seems to this newbie, that the only way to get the 40 amp controllers is the kits you need to solder yourself... is this right or am I missing something? or does that mean I am stuck with the 30 amp controllers if I can't solder? Don
This controller can handle 40 amps. It's the same controller that you would find inside of the 1602 series of controllers. Note that when you order a 1602 it's wired for 30, but has the ability to handle 40 amps. (Which means you would need to modify power cords, etc.) The residential controllers (CTB16PC-XX) are 30 amps, no matter what. They do not have the ability to go past that. viennaxmas
The power cords have to be changed. They are 15amp. I also think the fuse.Still curious why 40 amps are required. My entire show runs on less than 20...

Mega Arch
You need to consider where you will draw power from as well. If you split the controller into 2 circuits, but plug into the same receptacle, you're still at a 15 or 20 amp max.
