default
Edit - That didn't take long, the sign has been spoken for. I'll leave this post intact so the links will still be available. Hey all,I have a Color Cell CC784 6 Color Moving Message Sign that I don't want anymore.I have had it for a couple of years and really thought I was going to use it in my shows, but the reality is that everyone who comes to my shows is already sitting in a lawn chair with a ice cold beverage so I have no need to advertise. I got the sign for free and am not looking to make any money off it. If you want to pay the shipping, it's yours.Be advised. This sign is NOT operated by LOR software. This is an old school sign, programming was done in DOS. A working knowledge of DOS is helpful.I do not have the remote control for this sign. I built a rs232 cable to run it from a PC as per the instructions in the linked PDF http://chiclassiccomp.org/docs/content/other/ColorCells_CC784_ProgrammingGuide.pdfThe cable end is a RS232 9 pin (female) You must have a RS232 9 pin connection on your PC for this to work. Al ot of newer PC's do not have a RS232 connection. Check to see if you do.I do not know if a USB to Serial adapter will work. The program to use this sign runs in a DOS Window. I am using Win XP. If you want to download a copy of the software to be sure it runs for you here is the link http://www.ancientpond.com/files/colorcells.zip (when unzipped run the NEWCC.exe program)You don't need to change COM Port to try the program, if you get this sign, to make it work you will have to change you COM Port to 300 baud. (remember to change it back for LOR) (lol 300 baud remember those days Some other links I have found discussing the signhttp://www.signweb.com/forum/moving-message/color-cells-displays-cc784-cc784net-etc?page=2http://www.signweb.com/forum/electric-signs/color-cells-international-sign?page=3 Specs from the PDF------------------Cabinet Material - Aluminium housing with plastic end capsCabinet Size - 29.5" X 5.25" x 2"Weight - 5.5 Ib approx. (I'm a nice guy but there is a limit )The nearest UPS office to me is in Silverdale Washington 98383 A link to thier store is here. http://silverdale-wa-2154.theupsstorelocal.com/If it helps here is a link to UPS Shipping Cost Calculator https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_CAI will package it up and take it to UPS and get an actual weight before it's shipped and the cost can be exact.I have a Paypal account or would accept Money Order or Check to cover the cost of the shipping. When I get the payment, I would ship. If there is a way for you to pay shipping online that works for me also. (don't know how to go about that)Also I plan to attend the 2015 Pacific Northwest Regional C.L.A.P. Mtg as described in this link http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/topic/35127-2015-pacific-northwest-regional-clap-mtg/ if you can wait that long I could bring along with me.I've included a short video to show a demo that the sign works. The video shows a jerking motion during the side scrolling that doesn't happen on the sign. First Come, first served, if interested PM me.Alan...
